Thoughts

Like a Never Ending Maze

She was only thirteen, wondering what was going on.

Just wait until the dawn.

She lost a friend that dreadful night,

Another angel ascended and took flight.

Though the grief she felt, not a tear came down.

She never showed anything more than a frown.

Maybe she cried in her dreams, when no one was aware?

Maybe she grieved silently when only she was there.

It didn't seem real, that a star like that could go dim.

She was left in her own thoughts to swim.

"She's gone now, but everything will be okay,"

She thought it was just a game, one you couldn't exactly play.

But now she's realized, and her thoughts go deeper than just her dreams.

Her mind never stops spinning, she's just a teen.

Inside, she's much more than that: she's a tangled web of all sorts of things.

And the bell of sorrow always rings.
