Through Time

Shattering Stern Convention

By Thomas SpeerPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Consider, love, the wheel of time

Steadfast without conceit

Upward only, it can climb

The fire bars retreat

A hilltop of profound objection

Blood and sin soaked through the grass

Time demanded one direction

no conversing with the past

The sun commanded no reflection

El Shaddai brought chilling rime

Shattering the stern convention

Spinning free the wheel of time.

Elijah called for heavy rain

Moses prayed for dryer ground

Seven times upon the plain,

Then brought the red sea down.

Time allows for many things

Time keeps our reach in line

But on the corpse of death and sin

Jesus reached though time.

About the Creator

Thomas Speer

I'm a God-fearing tumbleweed of a man, a gentle husband, loving foster parent, screwed up past and amazingly ordained future serving the Lord and expressing his revelation in my writing. Don't expect the dry and sanctimonious, though.
