Tomboy
On Gender Identity

When I was younger, I didn't have the words
'Tomboy', they called me
I said 'I am a boy' but still
'Tomboy', they called me
I grew up not really knowing how to say
'I'm not a girl'
I never knew another word
'I'm not a girl'
As I grew up, I understood others but
'Tomboy', they called me.
Still not sure about myself
'Tomboy', they call me
Assigned female at birth but never felt it
I'm not a girl
It's my head, not my body
I'm not a girl
I finally have the vocabulary
Not a girl, not a boy
Maybe gender fluid
Not a boy, not a girl
Still discovering my true identity
Not a boy, not a girl
Perhaps nonbinary
Not a girl, not a boy
I don't know what I am, and that's OK
I'm me, and I'm accepted
I don't understand all the terms, and that's OK
I'm me, and I am loved.

Congratulations on being top story. :)
It's that last line that gripped my heart. It's the: Yes. It's the You. The fluidity of this piece perfectly captures the content. Congratulations on Top Story recognition.
What you are is.................not a puppy.
