It is a small offering, absurd in the scale of its appetite, yet the fire loves permission, however small; free to rise from its ashen wreath at a time of its choosing, it wants justification for the hunger of its being. An excuse to devour, untamed.
-Ash and Morning/Mourning, The Veiled Dominion
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
It's never that good if it's too cheap
Of flesh and fire, you turn in your sleep
Your highest desire, you burn to its peak
Longing melts what won't catch flame
Desire burns the darkest shade
Your thoughts turn the darkest shade
We take turns, dark depraved
Hand over mouth, no word is safe
""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
It's never too far unless it's that deep
Pain is pleasure and pressure is heat
The shame is better when pain is sweet
We came together, chain and leash
Defame and tether, restrain, repeat
Stir til' it turns a darker shade
It goes down and burns, you start to change
Shapeshift and turn, we're all the same
Ash in the urn, moths to flame
"""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""
It's never too hot unless it's wet heat
Eyes tempted fall, the temperature rises
My fetish crawls in different disguises
Saints look away but under their eyelids
Glimpse the decay of passion ignited
A dash of gray then a darker shade
All you crave, a darker shade
A blindfolded gaze, a darker shade
Shield from the flames but don't turn away

"Longing melts what won't catch flame" That was my favourite line. Loved your poem!
