What Coming Out of a Depressive State Feels Like

Sludgy sadness slithers in on green invested water.

Frozen stiff in bed like a Stonehenge stone.

Physical or mental movement cause my body to ache.

Staring off into space or the blank wall is all that I can muster.

Ineffable labyrinth of thoughts ping pong on the cluttered table.

Incendiary condolences ricochet off the sides of my soul.

Syzygy figures hover near me and dispense curative properties.

At first, they seemed so unassuming and inconsequential.

Finally, a transformation morphs me, materializing,

and for the first time in a long time, I am alive again!

The imagery is vivid—Stonehenge, labyrinths, syzygy—each line feels like a step out of the fog. That final moment of transformation? So satisfying. Love the depth in this! ✨

Well, I learned a new word today- "syzygy". I guess being a Lexiphile is a natural trait of writers, at least curious ones 😊✨
