What I mean when I pray the Lord’s Prayer (aka Our Father)
Public Prayer for Sobriety

What I mean when I say the Lord’s Prayer:
1. Our Father, who art in heaven,
You are far from the uncleanness that has been my habits and choices.
2. Hallowed be Thy name.
Your reputation far exceeds my own attempts to save face.
3. Thy Kingdom come.
Help me to no longer be the jester before your throne.
4. Thy will be done:
Let your will become my purpose.
5. On earth as it is in heaven:
Bring your purpose from its heavenly origins into my earthly life.
6. Give us this day our daily bread:
Help me seek the nourishment my body truly needs and not just an escape.
7. And forgive us our trespasses:
You fully know the hurt I’ve caused to you and others.
8. As we forgive those who trespass against us:
Hurt people hurt people. Help me see the love for them that you see.
9. And lead us not into temptation:
I want to build a new tribe that see the good in me and nourish it.
10. But deliver us from evil:
Help me devise an escape from my triggers and urges.
11. For Thine is the Kingdom:
Your perfect laws will guide me.
12. And the Power,:
My strength comes from you and I give it back to you.
13. And the Glory:
I will tell others of the grace you give me.
14. Forever and ever.
You have always existed and always will. Let my determination be as such.
15. Amen.
So be it always.

Amen and hallelujah! Thank you so much for making this prayer even more relatable!
The Lord's Prayer is my go-to prayer, especially since Christ used it as a model prayer to the disciples. I enjoyed reading your reflections intertwined with it. 😇🤩😊
