When Machines Learned to Dream

A Human Poem in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

By Waqar KhanPublished about a month ago 1 min read
When Machines Learned to Dream

The world moves fast, powered by silent code,

Screens glow bright where thoughts are stored.

Machines now speak, they answer, they learn,

Yet inside us, old questions still burn.

We taught them logic, numbers, and speed,

Fed them data, desire, and need.

But can a machine feel joy or pain,

Or watch the sky and love the rain?

In cities of wires and digital light,

Humans scroll through day and night.

Looking for meaning, searching for truth,

In algorithms shaped by our youth.

Artificial intelligence grows each day,

Writing stories, guiding the way.

But behind every line, every smart reply,

Is a human heart asking “Why?”

We fear replacement, losing control,

Yet hope still lives inside the soul.

Because no machine, no matter how wise,

Can replace human tears or eyes.

So let us use tech with care and grace,

Not lose ourselves in a virtual race.

For the future is bright when humans lead,

And machines exist to help, not replace, our need.
