While I dreamt, I Screamed

Inspired by a nightmare I had

Even while I dreamt, I screamed.

Even while I dreamt. I wished,

Upon a lonely start above, I wished,

To free from the depth untold,

To hurl my hurt across the creek,

And dash his skull from the side of a cliff,

So that he could taste, the sort of soup from soap he cooked,

And I shall in deed and name become,

A staunch survivor of harm unseen.

So even while I screamed, I dreamt.
