Whispers in the Shadows

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 4 months ago 1 min read

Verse 1

In a room where laughter used to play,

Now silence weighs, heavy like the gray,

You wear a smile, hide the scars inside,

But I see the truth, where the darkness hides.

Chorus

Oh, why do they choose to look away?

When the light of love turns to shades of gray,

Caught in a web of a twisted game,

Whispers in the shadows, but you’re not to blame.

Verse 2

They say it’s not real, just a phase,

But your heart knows the cost, the hidden ways,

You hear them defend, with a practiced grin,

While the devil dances, wearing a mask within.

Chorus

Oh, why do they choose to look away?

When the light of love turns to shades of gray,

Caught in a web of a twisted game,

Whispers in the shadows, but you’re not to blame.

Bridge

Love shouldn’t hurt, love shouldn’t blind,

Yet they turn their backs, leaving you behind,

But hope’s a flicker, still burning bright,

You’re stronger than the darkness—rise up and fight.

Chorus

Oh, why do they choose to look away?

When the light of love turns to shades of gray,

Caught in a web of a twisted game,

Whispers in the shadows, but you’re not to blame.

Outro

So let your voice rise, break through the night,

You’re more than their whispers; you’ll find your light,

Step out of the shadows, let the truth be known,

In a world that’s too quiet, you’re never alone.
