Who hurt you?

No, seriously.

Heart Pains

The feeling was fluff

with a melody so rough

that I whispered a response.

Those words were fire,

impossible, a liar

and all the remembered wants.

These desires chased

me up mountains with haste

but you made me come down alone.

That abnormal declaration

performed to cut my narration

into shards of a ruined throne.

Yes, I remember the feel,

my heart turned into steel

so that I might never yearn again.

But the doubts lingered on

and I thought I was strong

So I’ll take this one on the chin.

In the dead of night

I will sit and recite

A molehill of forever haunts.

Though I can hardly stomach

The dread that now summits,

I expect a lifetime of taunt.
