Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge: May 1st - May 30th

A curious journey

with large cups of tea,

where madness reigns red

and words form smoke rings.

down a small rabbit hole ,

seeking checkerboard keys,

where we can weep oceans,

while the daffodils sing.

Join me beginning May 1st for a 30 day Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge!

Here's the plan - bare with me as this is my first hosted challenge:

I will be sharing my work with each prompt here on vocal each day - the title of the wonderland piece will be the prompt itself and the subtitle will say "wonderland challenge", so you can follow along that way here on this platform; or you can follow me on threads (@poetryandglimmers) where I will be sharing the prompt each morning - roughly 8am EST - if you'd like to get the prompt earlier and work on your piece.

Poems can be in any style that you like, and you can use the prompt in whatever way that it inspires you!

I would love to see pieces shared here on Vocal on your pages, and then pop your pieces into the comment of the pieces I write and share for that prompt, which I'll then link under that days poem as well! Be sure to link them and tag them on Threads and all your socials as well! I'll be featuring reads throughout the challenge on Threads and my socials also. This is all about building community - readership - and appreciation for poetry, and also Vocal as the amazing platform that it is for writers.

At the end of the month I will be opening submissions for your favorite wonderland pieces, and I'll share guidelines for that at the end of the challenge - but what I can tell you now is that -

The best 30 poems submitted across the entire month of prompts will be selected to be featured in a mini-collection book that will become available for purchase for anyone interested in a copy of the collection we create together in both a print and an e-book version. Those who have their submitted poems selected for feature in the book will receive a free e-book!
