Words Say

Things We Never Would

By Kelli Sheckler-AmsdenPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

I wonder what it's all about

this game of life we play

We spill so much out of our mouths

with nothing valuable to say

Small talk and innuendos

empty words with breath of fire

empty eyes and soulless windows

completely drama filled satire

But we never say what matters

when said and done, it's all a game

Just Mona Lisas and mad hatters

we've nothing of substance to proclaim

But, who are we to judge the outcome

we follow rules and stay in line

Yet the silence is where real truth comes from

where we find the ties that bind
