You will write again

The numbers are rising the money is rolling in

Followers and subscribers increase

Exhilaration and motivation make your head spin

You hope the momentum will never cease

They love me they really love me

You’re encouraged to to write write write

Then suddenly without warning

Your happy day turns into a bitter night

By Matthew Osborn on Unsplash

Impressions and views rapidly plummet

You wonder what you did wrong

You thought you had the right tune

But now no one is singing your song

Depression sets in your mind is blocked

Creativity begins to cease

You question your gift while nagging thought

in your mind begins to increase

By Amir Seilsepour on Unsplash

Suddenly your numbers go up again

the writing juices flow once more

You desire to make up for lost time

determined to even the score

You're back on track

your train of thought is moving fast

Milk it for all it's worth

because you know it may not last

Writer's block isn't as demotivating as having no response from your supposed readership. Quite insightful to say the least.

Great expression of "writer's block." It is hard that the task many of us enjoy the most is so fickle!

This is very close to home for me. I write knowing that there is an audience in different spaces for me. But those numbers and hits still haunt my thoughts. Thank you for this one. Now it is time for me to get back to work... ;)

Yes! I think sometimes we have too much access to metrics that allow us to compare compare compare! It definitely makes it more difficult sometimes to create.
