Dear Donald: Letter from an Apostate
Dear Donald, There’s a pain in my chest. Not on my left side, over the heart, but on the right where the heart might’ve been but isn't. It hurts here whenever I overeat. This morning, I was making bacon the way I did back at home on Sundays. The whole slab for the whole family. I live far away and alone now, though, so it’s different, but I cooked it all up anyway, a giant pile of bacon all for me, and it’s not even Sunday, it’s Tuesday morning—okay, afternoon—but the point is that in my heart, or whatever’s on the other side, I’m still cooking for five. And so I eat for five. Is this how you feel? I know it might seem odd that I’m writing to you about this, Mr. President, and not my doctor, but I just thought you of all people might understand.

It’s Been Real
Allow me to begin by stating that I have no political affiliations or aspirations—I am merely a penman who is particularly passionate about people and perception. In my opinion, politics are divisive by nature and are therefore counterproductive to “u-n-i” of unity and the coming together for a common cause.

Dear Donald
Dear Sir, As you prepare to leave the hallowed position of President of the United States of America, you ought to know that we are no longer united. Sure, it could be said that as you campaigned across the country in 2016 that the U.S. was already suffering fissures in our foundation, you did nothing to heal those fissures. In fact, it could be said that you caused an eruption rivaling Mount Vesuvius that broke us apart further.

Finally Farewell
Dear Donald Trump, As a modern pop-culture icon, you disappointed me in how you represented our "Great" nation. Growing up, I learned that America was Beautiful because it was the land of the free and the home of the brave. Not just the brave soldiers who fight to keep us free, but the home of the many different shades of bravery - from the LGBTQ+ community to those still suffering from the lasting effects of outdated prejudices. The way you abused your freedom of speech to cause dissention and revel in hatred between the many different peoples pursuing happiness in America causes me pain. I am angry.

Donald Trump's Legacy and What It Means For Future Presidents
After four tumultuous years, Donald J. Trump's presidency is coming to an end, and a brand new administration will begin on January 20th. President Trump has often claimed that history would be on his side as a great president and that the Democrats have been leading what he calls "the greatest witch hunt in the history of politics." But will history be on his side?

A plea to Donald Trump
Dear Donald Trump, Wow, it’s been an interesting four years huh? During your time in office, everything has changed. Many people have been hurt in your name, families have been separated, and people have suffered. Despite this, there is only one simple thing I want to say to you. One simple sentence that I want to shout at you from the top of my lungs while looking you right in the eyes.

Bitter, Without the Sweet
Normally, most letters begin with "Dear," but I find you anything but, Mr. Trump. So, hi there. Or, bye there, I guess. Never have more satisfying words fallen out of my fingers and into this letter. Mr. Trump, my name is Theo. I'm 21 years old, queer as all hell, and your government wants me dead.

Sincerely, Thank You
Dear Donald, Sincerely, thank you for these past four years. Thank you for your attacks on the LGBTQ community. Thank you for your blatant racism. Thank you for your blatant classism. Thank you for radicalizing my own mother to the point that I now no longer recognize her when we speak. Thank you for exposing almost half of this country for the xenophobic homosexual racist garbage fire that it is.

Dear Mr. Trump
Dear Mr. Trump, Right now I am in awe, I just got finished reading goodbye letters that other writers have left you and I am shocked. I really had mixed feelings as to rather or not, I should share how you being a President actually affected me in the last four years. Well, for starters I have never been interested in politics or elections. I to this day have never voted for anyone. I always hated when my favorite television program would be interrupted, because a President needed to give a speech. I also did not feel comfortable voting for someone I did not even know as a person.
