2025 Texas Rangers Predictions

As Alex Bregman once said, "I guess we'll never know"

I know that y'all miss baseball so much. Believe me, I know the feeling. It won't be long until Spring Training arrives, also known as the unofficial start of baseball. The Texas Rangers may not have repeated as World Series Champions last year, but it's a new year and we're wiping the state clean. The Rangers have been busy during the offseason by signing several players. I won't go through every single one, but the most notable ones. In case you missed it, here are the new additions:

Kyle Higashioka: 2-year deal with a mutual option for 2027

Jake Burger: 29 home runs and 76 RBI for the Miami Marlins during the 2024 season

Joc Pederson: Won a World Series title with the Atlanta Braves in 2021; he will be sure to be among the best power hitters alongside Burger, Seager, and García

One last notable item: The Rangers and Nathan Eovaldi agreed to a 3-year, $75 million dollar deal. Yes, he's back! He was one of the driving forces that led the Rangers to winning their first ever World Series title. Eovaldi had won his first World Series title with the Boston Red Sox in 2018. He finished the 2024 season with a record of 12-8 with a 3.80 ERA.

Now let's get on with my predictions for the Rangers.

87 Wins: After the acquisitions of the aforementioned players and others, I feel like 2025 will be a redemption year for the Rangers after finishing last season under .500. You might think that the number of wins I predicted is nuts, but I know that this is their year to show everyone that their World Series title in 2023 wasn't a fluke.

Rangers will win AL West title: Joc Pederson proclaimed in a press conference while being introduced to the team that the Rangers will win the AL West. I second that and to be honest, the Astros winning the division for who knows how many years, will end. Justin Verlander has since been traded to the San Francisco Giants and as of this story, no word yet on whether Alex Bregman will return to the Astros. Not that I care about him. The Rangers will run the AL West!

Eovaldi will win the AL Cy Young Award: I know it's a longshot, but if he stays healthy enough, this may become a reality. He might he facing some competition, most likely with last year's AL Cy Young Award winner, Tarik Skubal, who made MLB history by becoming the first Triple Crown winner in pitching. The other Triple Crown Winner in pitching was NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale. I was leaning towards Jacob deGrom, but Eovaldi would be a much better choice for me.

Adolis García will win a Silver Slugger Award: Adolis García didn't seem like the Adolis García we've seen during the 2023 Postseason. Side note: whenever you get a chance, I suggest that you hear Joe Davis' call during Game 1 of the 2023 World Series where El Bombi hit a walk-off home run to win that game. It was electric and Davis was hyped up. I would highly recommend it. Anyway, I also predict that García will hit 30 home runs. During the 2024 season, he had 68 hits, 130 hits, and 85 RBI. Impressive, but unfortunately, he had 177 strikeouts. There's no denying that he's a power hitter, but if García can cut down on those strikeouts, I see him winning at least one award.

World Series Champions 2025: The Dodgers might be the favorites to repeat as champions again, but as I've stated in previous stories, the likelihood of achieving that feat is probably less than one percent. Mark my words: the Rangers will win the World Series in 2025! Crazy? Maybe, but when you're a Rangers fan, you gotta believe. I've had to clap back against haters saying that they're one-hit wonders, which I refuse to accept that label. The one difference between the Rangers and the Dodgers is that the Rangers actually worked hard for their World Series title and earned it, while the Dodgers bought theirs last year and also buying talent. Yes, that was shade and I don't care.
