Six ordinary paintings

42 kilometers east of Turpan, Xinjiang, on the Gobi beach, there is a world-renowned "underground museum". There is not only a large number of thousands of preserved ancient mummified corpses, but also a collection of countless precious cultural relics, it is the famous Astana ancient tomb group.

Astana Tomb group is located in the north suburb of the famous ancient city of Gaochang. The whole tomb group extends from the northeast of the ancient city to the northwest, about 5 kilometers long from east to west, and about 2 kilometers wide from north to south. In an area of about 10 square kilometers, there are thousands of tombs from the Jin dynasty to the Tang Dynasty. These tombs do not have inscriptions, ancestral halls, trees and other ground monuments, or even sealed earth. There are few signs of burial except for gravel dunes. Each tomb basically consists of ramped ramps and single or double chambers about four or five meters deep, with very few patios. The bodies in the tomb are placed on the earth platform in the earth cave tomb. Because of the extreme dryness of the climate, 80 percent of the bodies buried are mummified.

The tombs are also rich in cultural relics. More than 1,700 documents have been collected so far. These documents, which lasted more than 500 years from the Western Jin Dynasty to the Tang Dynasty, included contracts, account books, official documents, letters and manuscripts of classics. It covers the economic, military, ideological, cultural and other aspects of the society at that time. The large number of pottery figures, wooden figures and silk fabrics buried in the tomb are also of high artistic value.

The tomb also contains a large number of painted murals. These murals have a wide range of contents and various themes, reflecting the social life at that time from many aspects. In particular, six murals were preserved in a tomb chamber. These six murals reflect the moral integrity and ideal wishes of the tomb owner from different aspects, and also elucidates some valuable life philosophy.

The first depicts a interjection, a word that warns the tomb owner against complacency. The intervehicle is a type of water container with slightly pointed ends and easily deflected fulcrum. When there is no water, it slopes slightly to one side; When it is full of water, it immediately topples to one side; When the water is not enough, it can be stably hung on a specific bracket. So the ancients put it on the side of the case, named "excuse sitting", on the right side of the seat, as a tool for advice. When Confucius saw such vehicles interjection in the Duke Huan Temple of Lu, he said, "I have heard interjection interjection, interjection interjection, interjection interjection, interjection interjection." The characteristics of intervehicles are described exactly.

The second picture is a man in green, with the word "jade man" written on his chest. "Jade Man" was originally a statue under the steps of the Imperial Temple in the Zhou Dynasty, with a gentle expression, as if he was controlling his inner desires. Its meaning teaches the person abstinence material desire, moral cultivation, correct moral integrity, defends the body like jade.

The third picture shows a man with a cloth covering his mouth and the Chinese character "Jin Ren" written on his chest. It means that a person should say less and do more, and cherish his words like gold. Here is the allusion of "the Jin man's silence", which refers to the fact that Confucius, in the Zhou Dynasty, once saw a gold man (bronze man) cast under the right step of the Ancestral Temple. His mouth was wrapped with cloth for three weeks. Little trouble, little trouble.

The fourth picture shows a man with open hands talking freely, with the Chinese character "Stone Man" written on his chest, aiming to teach people to dare to speak out and stand firm. The "Stone Man" was originally a statue of the Zhou Dynasty at the foot of the Temple, opposite to the "golden Man" on the right, with an inscription on its chest: "No little words, no little things".

The fifth picture is the portrait of the owner of the tomb. He is resting with his eyes closed and thinking deeply. Maybe he is considering how to deal with this complicated life.

The last painting is a tube-shaped container with a graduated line on it. If things are filled with too much line, they will leak out from the bottom of the container. It means that people should be honest and not insatiable...

Six ordinary paintings, but tell such a rich philosophy of life, but also leave people too much thinking...
