Many Bridges to Cross
Different bridges in the world

China

The Chengyang Bridge in Sanjiang County is a wooden bridge with two platforms and a roof covered with tiles. The bridge also has a corridor and veranda. Built in 1912, it serves as the link between two villages.

The Ruyi Bridge is located in the high-tech zone of Chengdu in China, crossing Tianfu 2nd Street. The bridge connects the urban space on the north to Dayuan Park in the south. Ruyi Bridge was designed by ZZHK Architects and is used by pedestrians and cyclists. It was named Ruyi after a traditional Chinese “S-shaped” musical instrument, which is considered to be a good luck symbol.
Christmas Island

Crab bridges are just for crabs on Christmas Island, an Australian external territory in the Indian Ocean. The native crabs migrate from the forests to the oceans to mate every year. So they would not be put at risk against cars and trucks; they have bridges to scuttle over.
Denmark

The Infinite Bridge is located on Varna Beach on the outskirts of Aarhus. What is fascinating is that this bridge does not lead to anywhere. It is a circle-shaped, wooden pier, half on the beach and half in the sea. The bridge has a wood-paneled deck and steel legs connecting the land with the sea.
England

The Gateshead Millennium Bridge is also known as the “Winking Eye Bridge.” It stretches over the River Tyne in northeast England. This is an award-winning steel structure designed by the architectural practice WilkinsonEyre. The bridge supports both pedestrians and cyclists.
France

The Pont Jacques Chaban-Delmas Bridge in Bordeaux is a vertical lift bridge and the longest in Europe. Its towers have a special lighting system that flashes different colors depending on the state of the tide.
Germany

Devil’s Bridge is located in Kromlauer Park in eastern Germany. It is an arched bridge built over water. The bridge blends in with the surrounding nature and was built with local stones. This arched bridge is known as Rakotzbrücke and was specifically built to create a circle when it is reflected in the waters beneath it.
Netherlands

Moses Bridge is located at Fort de Roovere, which was once a protective fortress and part of the Dutch Water Line of the 1600s. In 2010 the bridge was built from Accoya wood waterproofed with foil. It lies like a trench in the fortress, blending in with the surroundings. There are several routes that pedestrians and hikers can take.

Natuurbrug Zanderij Crailoo is a wildlife bridge that was built across the N524 roadway. The bridge was built to let wildlife safely cross the roadway. Known also as an “ecoduct,” it is the longest wildlife bridge and was completed in 2006. It leads animals safely across the N524 roadway and nearby railways to the surrounding wooded areas, spanning a business park, river, and sports complex in the process.
Norway
The Da Vinci Bridge is located in Nygard, Norway. (pictured above) This was the thought of Italian artist Leonardo da Vinci to have a bridge cross the Golden Horn in Istanbul in 1502. This never happened, but artist Vebjorn Sand transformed da Vinci’s vision into a walking bridge over the highway in Nygard. Its sleek parabolic design and wood-steel frame evoke the elegance of the original design.
Scotland

The Falkirk Wheel is the only rotating boat lift in the world. It is located in Tamfourhill, connecting the Union Canal and the Forth & Clyde Canal, making it easy to navigate from coast to coast across central Scotland.
Singapore

Henderson Waves Bridge is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore. What is interesting about this bridge is that it mimics the shape of a wave. There are curves and twists creating an unusual design that features slats of balau wood, a hardwood found only in Southeast Asia.

At dusk each day, the bridge is illuminated, creating some magic in the night.
Taiwan

Moon Bridge is located in Dahu Park in Taiwan. It is a pedestrian bridge that was built atop of a thirteen-hectare lake. It is surrounded by hills. The bridge originated in China and was later introduced to Japan. These kinds of bridges are non-functional, just ornamental. They were originally designed to let pedestrians cross canals and allow barges to pass underneath. The high arch reflects in still water, forming a circle and symbolizing the moon.
Vietnam

The Golden Bridge is a footbridge at the Ba Na Hill Resort. It stretches across the Truong Son Mountains. The bridge was designed to look like it was supported by two giant hands. This feature makes it a most unique bridge. The bridge gets its name from the guardrails, which are painted gold.
Washington

In this US state, you can walk on water in Seattle by crossing the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge. This bridge is the longest and widest floating bridge ever built and will get you across Lake Washington without having to swim.
