Heart Touching Story (Love Letter)

Love is a feeling that is not easy to express in words. It arises deep within the heart and says a lot even without saying. But sometimes, circumstances and our hesitation prevent us from expressing our love. This story is about a boy and a girl who had love in their hearts, but they could never live that love openly. A misfortune made their story incomplete, but this incompleteness also made their love immortal.

Story Begins

In a small town, a boy was suffering from a serious disease, cancer. Due to the disease, his world was limited to home. He used to spend most of his time in his room reading books and looking out of the window. His condition was critical and the doctors had not assured him of much time.

One day his loneliness and boredom increased so much that he asked his mother for permission to go out. The mother first refused with a little hesitation, but then agreed for his happiness. He came out of the house and started walking in the nearby streets. While walking, he realized for the first time how colorful and beautiful the world is.

While walking, he passed in front of a CD store. Suddenly his eyes fell on a girl standing inside the store. The girl was of his age and looked very beautiful. There was some magic in her smile. The boy kept looking at that girl.

After standing and looking for some time, he gathered courage and went inside the store. He was full of fear and hesitation, but finding an excuse to talk to the girl, he picked up a CD from the nearby shelf and reached the counter.

“How can I help you?” the girl asked smiling. This smile was no less than a gift for him. The boy said hesitantly, “Oh…yes…that…I want to buy this CD.”

The girl told the price of the CD and asked, “Should I wrap it in a paper?” The boy immediately agreed. The girl went to another counter and in a few minutes brought back the CD wrapped in paper. The boy paid the money and left without saying much.

From that day onwards the boy's routine changed. He would go to the CD store every day and return home after buying a CD. His real intention was not to buy a CD, but to see the girl and talk to her a little.

The girl too would meet him with the same warmth every time, but the boy's hesitation did not allow him to talk much. Coming home, he would keep the CD on his study table without opening it.

Slowly his heart started getting drawn towards that girl. He fell in love with her. He would think about her day and night. But due to his illness and his shy nature, he was not able to muster the courage to tell her what was in his heart.

One day his mother sensed his changing habits. She asked her son why he went to the CD store every day. At first the boy hesitated, but then he told his mother everything truthfully.

The mother smiled and told him, “If you love her so much, then tell her what is in your heart. Life is too short, son. Do not delay in expressing your feelings.”

The boy listened to his mother and decided that day itself that he will tell his heart to the girl.

In the evening he reached the CD store. The girl met him smiling as usual. He timidly went to her counter and asked to buy a CD.

When the girl went to another counter to wrap the CD, the boy quickly wrote his phone number on a small piece of paper and placed it on the girl’s desk. He thought, “If I cannot say all this, then perhaps this number will say everything.”

He quickly left the store with the CD.

The next day the boy did not go to the CD store. The girl waited for him, but he did not come. This continued for several days. The girl started missing his absence.

Finally, she called the phone number she found on the counter. The boy’s mother picked up the phone.

The girl asked, “Can I talk to your son?”

Hearing this, the mother started crying loudly. She said, “He left us last evening. He had cancer, and we could not save his life.”

The phone almost fell from the girl's hand. Tears started flowing from her eyes. The girl immediately asked the mother for their home address and reached there. The mother took her to the boy's room.

On reaching the room, she saw that there was a pile of CDs on the boy's study table. Not a single CD was opened. The girl picked up a CD tremblingly and opened it.

As soon as she opened the CD's paper, a small love letter came out inside it. This love letter was written by her. Every time she used to put her heart's feelings for the boy in the pack of those CDs.

The girl opened all the CDs crying. A love letter was kept in each CD. But the boy never opened any CD.

The girl was successful in expressing her love, but unfortunately, the boy could not see that love. The hesitation between the two and the circumstances did not let their love reach each other.

Lesson

This story teaches us how important it is to express our feelings in time. Hesitation and delay in love sometimes leave such regrets that even time cannot fill.
