I Googled My Pen Name And Book Title

It was a Google driven by utter frustration.

Why was I frustrated- and how did that lead to a Google of myself?

My audiobook. It passed Quality control. It was approved on https://voices.inaudio.com. It has been distributed to 31 platforms. I had announced my release date as December 17th. I wanted to put it on pre-order. Completely forgot it can take up to 30 days or more before your stuff is actually published on these platforms.

Yikes. So as December 17th gets closer, I'm a little stressed. I want my reputation to be reliable, so people know I stick to what I say.

I know stress is pointless because I have no power or control over the situation.

And yet, stress I do.

Lessons learned. Now I can make a better guess in the future when I inevitably do this again for my upcoming story, Long Live The Queen.

I Googled because I wanted to know if any of the audiobook platforms had the book live, and maybe Inaudio was just a day or two behind in adding the live link.

Completely forgetting it's still technically a holiday weekend too, at the time, which I'm only realizing as I write this. I also wrote an article not to long ago about protesting this year's Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales week in the USA, so I'm not actually upset it's not live for Cyber week.

But at that time, all I could think about was how December 17th is ONLY 17.5 DAYS AWAY.

Google took me by surprise - and I'm not going to lie; I got a little teary-eyed.

It was only about a year ago that I dreamed about being a simple Google search. Being a Google search means that the internet knows you, and your book can be found.

You would think that "Willowmeana" would be an EASY pen name to Google. It's a little different. But nope.

The last time I googled my own Pen Name, a bunch of other authors of book titles with the word "memoirs" came up before my own book listing on Amazon and my articles on Medium and Vocal.

Now, when you dive deeper into Google's AI mode on my Pen Name, there are pop-up questions. AND incredibly accurate and detailed answers.

I've decided I'm not worried, the Internet knows what it's doing.

I no longer have to SEARCH for my book on the Internet. It knows what I'm talking about when I Google it. I just have to have faith if I keep working my friggin butt off, keep promoting, and keep writing. It'll pay off.

And to every Author who feels like they are on the verge of giving up: Just. Don't.

Hang in there. Giving up is the one route to 100% chance of failure. If I can become a simple Google search on a pauper's income, so can you. Heck, you can probably do it better than me, to be honest. So keep struggling on! Hard work pays off in small ways as time goes on.
