Results - Unofficial Challenge: Who do you Actually want to Be?
Thank you to everyone who participated in this challenge, and thank you so much for your patience! Choosing the winners was a challenge in and of itself because the entries were amazing! BUT, there can only be three!!!
Just a reminder that, even if you didn't win, who YOU are, is amazing 🖤
Below is the 3 winners with why I chose each one and the rest of the entries are below, including my own.
On another note, I have been focused a lot on my music recently and haven't had much time on the computer because of that. Which means any ounce of poetry will be translated into song. I will try to pop in when I can to read your works! (I will be focusing on the winners works, as per their prizes that I promised).
To the winners: I will get around to your prizes, hopefully I can get it all in today, but if not, it will for sure be done by the end of the week!
I love y'all, stay blessed ❤️🔥
🔥 The Winners 🔥
Diane Foster - A Verb, Not a Noun
Ever since I first read this after I published this Challenge, I could not stop thinking about this prose and how perfectly it captures the in-between feeling; the silence between everything. It feels like peace embodiment and captures the essence of being self without actually saying it. The mention of the universe inside her head is so fitting because this feels like every bit of the universe speaking peacefully into shapes and forms.
Congratulations on wowing me, Diane. I will never forget this prose! 💛

Jesse Lee - Clean Energy
I envisioned a swirling bright light while reading this poem, it felt gentle yet powerful and held my attention and a smile on my face through the whole read. This feels like a deep dive, where source was tapped and only truth could radiate out.
Keep that internal flame burning strong, those who light the way, help others to see 🔥

kp - who i want to be is who i am
kp's poem feels like the great remembering of what happens when we strip away flesh and bone and forget all that has been told by the people who want us to be separate by spreading hate. I had to look up ubuntu, and I feel it describes the exact essence of your poem. For those wondering; ubuntu: a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity. When we remember that we are love, we can be compassionate to ourselves, and when we can see those around us as a mirror of ourselves, our compassion can help us soften with acceptance of the flaws we see. I truly love this poem!
Thank you for remembering who you are.
