We are made of people, those who surround us, those within us, those who help us realize who we are, others good at stories and others just give you the feel that you just want to be around them.

Each day is an opportunity to make friends and interact with people we come across.

People are made of different materials, there are those tall, dark and handsome, one of the qualifications of being a Kenyan Man. Others, well created, those that God had the whole afternoon to manufacture just after having his piece of kuku bahati for lunch. Those that are naturally appealing, not those who scare babies just by looks.

I have been lucky enough to have met a number of individuals that have come so close to me, so close that the car in front would be afraid of braking because you will hit them from behind. You will also be able to tell the introverts and extroverts.

He is an avid traveler, something he loves and enjoys from head to toe. He is equally a researcher; you can tell that from his looks. Last year, he was lucky enough to have gotten an opportunity that allowed him traverse a good no. of counties both on air and by road courtesy of an organization he was working for. This was not just an opportunity for him but a life, a hobby, what dude enjoys, you could tell that even from his social reviews.

When food is served, he gives you a warning that you should not share the same plate with him, or else…….

Dude also found a lady to love, that love from 1st Corinthians 13 – that which is patient, kind, not boastful and does not keep a record of wrongs. You also know that love does not find you sitted under a tree dissecting a mango or at the shoe shiner trying to browse through the papers to find what will be coming up next from Wamunyoro, or are we likely to get back to abductions. You go out and find love, it could be in the forest, or that colleague you keep ignoring coz your ego doesn’t allow you to talk to them.

She was and is one of my closest buddies from back in the days. In the year 2022, according to google I made a total of 25 smiles. Numerically, this is to tell you that I only made 2 smiles a month, but there’s a month I added an extra smile courtesy of her onus.

She is a comic, one who makes you laugh unintentionally.

She is still a student enjoying the luxuries that come with student life, the camaraderie spirit with fellows.

She will also tell you that of all her fears, the greatest one is – Dust, it is constant.

A teacher, a welcoming one, she is not like those that you come across their face and run away. She is also calm, composed, relaxed, one who is mature enough for you to notice, like people who get at the gate and the soldier will not keep asking them funny questions to check if they are human.

She is also single and happy, however, she would be even happier if she got one to engage her and get that status out of her. I hope she finds one soon.

She is made up of smiles. You can be sure anytime she passes strangers by, they have to keep wondering if they should just let her pass or joke around with the smile.

She is the one that shows up to the occasion.

She is also one that easily makes friends around, ensuring that friends get to know their other friends they didn’t know.

She has since registered a company, one that takes care of your events….I would wish to call her Miss Events. She loves order and she would mark you out if you did an event without her, because it would be so kienyeji since she wouldn’t be part.

She is an advocate of self-realization and awareness, dubbed mentorship, she champions for you not to sabotage yourself but instead show up, dare it, that which scares you, because that is how you get to grow and build yourself better.

She loves flowers, at least that one I know, I remember sometime back, I was in Naivasha and I couldn’t resist carrying a bunch of flowers, as that was to be a whole world for her.

I can’t wait to see what becomes of her in the long run.

Dude comes oozing with wisdom and understanding, like those of an engineer telling you how electrode 1 does not add up to electrode 2 and that is why your house lacks Wi-Fi. Sorry, pardon my physics, I dropped it in form one since it was indirectly superimposed to my brain, making it invisible. He is actually a Wi-Fi guy, am yet to find a name for these guys who travel in proboxes with long ladders fixed on their carriers, ladders that could affect a car's stability by their length.

He is that cool guy that every lady would want to be around. He is not like those chaps who carry kiburi 101, filled with machismo and carry with them all sorts of bravado trying to proof to us how man enough they can be.

Guys as these don’t speak that much, wisdom has a way of expressing itself - silence. Then there are these others who speak a total of 19 words per second, and their wisdom is carried in a handbag for everyone to see.

Those people you travel with and the only time you engage them is when advising if it’s safe to overtake.

You know that one person that everyone else wants to be around them because they carry love, or say, they are love themselves.

She is a typical African girl, that girl that Shosho would recommend for you, because she (shosho) knows how well to analyze these statistics and will warn you to keep off those petite chicks wasting away your life, those that come with tattoos half their body and ensuring that you see them.

She loves African stuff, the culture and anyone who wishes to win her should just proceed and get her a damn looking African… you know what that would be or those Maa jewels that catches the attention of even the most unbothered creatures.

She hates red as a color, this feels paradoxical since Valentines is here knocking and the only thing you know is a red flower, not even sure if these flowers have names. But do you have to crack your only brain cells that make people travel all the way to India to have them replaced, trying to find a non-red flower, well ..aisulu. Hopefully somebody finds her something non-red for valentines.

They carry principle as one of their values, those people that always have their stuff figured out.

She is a Minister, she leads the creative ministry, a ministry where all participants have just one assignment – spread their message by making you laugh. I feel it would be a sin if people failed to laugh at what they showcased, making them feel like they under-delivered. I once tried joining the ministry and just test if my moves and words would make people chortle, but felt like if I tried doing that even to the lizards, they would quickly run to their hideouts.

Lady carries passion, a passion of what they do, those people that you admire and wish you had met them earlier.

She is a prayer warrior, just like any of the other teams above, but it feels like she will be the one who will inspire Jesus to come for the second time. How many of such people do you know, at least, I know one.

Valentines is around the corner, I am not taking any friend requests for now. I would simply wish my team of buddies very well in all they do. Please don’t go knocking at your neighbor’s doors to borrow a match stick, it will sound unethical, just remember to buy one before you leave town.

And enjoy life as it is because no one will be creating another one for us to enjoy.
