Medical Professionals Encouraged To Take More Physical Activity
A new and exciting opportunity is being offered to health professionals across the Yorkshire area in an effort to enhance their health and fitness using a ground-breaking workplace wellness initiative. The programme uses different methods to encourage staff to gradually elevate their levels of physical activity through a number of team-based challenges using state of the art digital tracking technology. The Pennine GP Alliances Inaugural Wellbeing Challenge incorporates different ways of rewarding staff members who complete fifteen minutes of daily activity. After four weeks of the competition, the highest scoring team of employees will be crowned champions following which, those who are involved will be encouraged to continue with similar activities in order to maintain a good, healthy lifestyle.

UK Faces Dramatic Rise In Cases Of Sight Threatening Eye Disease
There is predicted to be an increase in over a million new cases of sight threatening eye disease cases over the next decade. That’s according to new findings which have been released by a leading charity who warn that the state of the country’s eye health has reached crisis point. If we look at the data as a whole, it equates to one new case every three minutes. The study which was carried out by Eye Health UK was released in time for National Eye Health Week which took place last week from the 22nd to the 28th March. The data used was collected in collaboration with York Health Economics Consortium and aimed to predict future cases of the four most common causes of sight loss. This includes cataract, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.

That's according to research from Durham University Business School which carried out an investigation which looked at how the gender composition of primary school classes can effect labour equality later in life. The investigation mainly focused on the long term career prospects for women and in turn focused in on how the different findings affected the gender pay gap nation wide.

There are many things in life that tend to bring back good memories from our childhoods. One of the best is when we may have been relaxing out doors in hot weather whilst having a nice ice cream to help us keep cool. Sales of the popular product are expected to have risen dramatically during the recent heat wave that effected many parts of the UK. Temperatures around the country rose dramatically, the highest of which was recorded in Faversham in Kent where weather centres recorded a temperature of 35.8 degrees celcius on the first of July.

More Action Needed On Children's Education
If you're a parent and you send your children to school, you'd expect that the school and local authority has a legal obligation to take over all parenting duties and ensure that your child is looked after during the day. All children around the country have a statutory right to education to help them prepare for their futures and ensure they can live independently. Local authorities must act in the best interest of the children at the different schools they cover. However, it turns out that this might not always be happening as in the first three months of this year, approximately 13% of children were classified as NEET that is not in education, employment or training.

The investigation also found out that although billions of dollars have been spent to help in the research process to find new drugs to gtreat the condition, the rate of how many people develop dementia around the world is still increasing at a some what uncontrollable rate. There has been a lot of research conducted in to the damaging build up of plaque in the brain. This is thought to be the main reason why the disease causes so much damage through out the body. British Chancellor Of The Exchequer Rachel Reeves has delivered her Spring Statement which helped to set out and reaffirm plans for the UK economy and ensure that the country strengthened it's financial situation. There had been a number of worries from different sectors of the House Of Commons who felt that the Labour party was going against it's core values and taking money away from those who really needed it i.e. the workers and people who were disabled or on low incomes. These plans had been set out in the budget last October so there had been a lot of anxiety to see if the government would be sticking to its plans or changing course in a bid to ensure that the markets had confidence in the way different sectors of the economy were being run.
