7 Minutes to Freedom by Natalya Androsova
Natayla Androsova is a writing coach with a clear goal in her mind. Her goals come across very beautifully when I read this. No, you won’t be able to read this book in 7 minutes, but serves a good purpose. It’s clear that she wants her readers and pupils become courageously authentic. Most of all, she wants us to be kinder to herselves. It dosen’t surprise me that she hosts writing retreats and writing groups. After reading this book, I can imagine her writing groups will be a lot of fun to take part in.

Artist from Montmartre by Olga Levitzki
Artist from Montmartre by Olga Levitzki is a simple love story set in the heart of Paris. If you’re looking for a cute romance novel set in France, or consider yourself a francophile, then this book might be something you enjoy. The book took me back to my childhood because when I was younger, I loved Paris and would enjoy anything set in Paris. I like Olga Levitzki‘s light and lyrical is a good writer, and I find it admirable that she can speak in 6 languages. Sometimes I wonder if some things get lost in translation or had the use of other translators, put as far as I know, there’s just this English version.

Funny Book Titles
We all know that phrase never judge a book by it’s cover. Let’s be honest, a lot of us do. The same thing goes with titles. We can learn a lot about the book based on the title. The title gives us things on what to expect. If I hadn’t had read Game of Thrones, based on the title alone I can tell there’s going to be lots of people fighting over a crown. Harry Potter I know is going to be about Harry Potter. It also entices curiosity. Titles can be as long or as short as the author/publisher wants it to be.

Jane of Battery Park
2020’s so far has been a crazy part of my life. Things that I used to take for granted have now gone and are slowly coming back. The weirdest thing about this pandemic is that any country could become the next dystopian empire with their own crazy rules if power falls into the wrong hands. I’ve always loved reading books and I’ve been reading more now than I ever did when I was younger. It’s one thing that’s been keeping me sane over the years, by reading books.

Healing Cycle
This is a short story I originally wrote in Wattpad for their fundraising partnership my Maybelline for mental health awareness month. The requirements on Wattpad are for it to be under 500 words. Vocal’s requirements are to be over 600 words. So there’s a few changes. You can find the original version on Wattpad. My username there is Chloboshoka.

The adoption agency said no
After an interview with an adoption agency last week, I got a phone call to say that they’re not taking me on. They made it sound so hopeful over the telephone. And they’re still advertising even though they say they have more adoptees than children to adopt. Something dosen’t add up.

The 10 Commandments - The Rockstar’s Guide To Life
I picked this book up at HMV today. The title bought me in, along with the rockstars on the cover. The discount sticker helped too. For those who don’t know the Q magazine is a prestigious music magazine in the UK. I remember it had it‘s own music channel at one point, don’t know if it’s still airing, as I don’t watch much telly nowadays. Editor, Ted calls Q the greatest music magazine in the UK. I have a feeling that he really wanted to write Q is the best music magazine in the world.

My Teenage Soundtrack
The most frustrating times of my life Unlike many teen movies, I would not call my teen years glamorous. In fact, I would say the opposite. I didn’t really enjoy school. It was a time where I was lead to believe that we all had to feel the same and be the same and if you didn’t fit into a certain stereotype or trope, And you get caught in gossip and stress from schoolwork. Teenage Angst by Placebo is the first song that came to my head when I saw this Vocal Challange.

Mary Queen of Scots (2018)
This has been a film I wanted to see for age. The trailer looked spectacular and the cast looked great. The Tudor and Stuart dynasty are the most talked about subjects in British history, and Mary Queen of Scots and Elisabeth I were two of the strongest female figures of their time. Mary was beheaded on Elizabeth‘s orders in 1587. In this telling of the tragic Queen Mary, she seeks sisterhood with her cousin, Elizabeth I (they’re technically first-cousins-once-removed), but much easier and more respectful to call each other cousins.

Shrek is a GREAT movie
Last night, I opened Netflix on my kindle. Scrolling through the list of shows and films to watch, I became dizzy and overwhelmed by the mass choice out there until I saw Shrek. I saw it at the cinema and saw it so many times on tape that I wore it out. It was one of my favourite movies as a kid and I thought it was hilarious when I saw it at the cinema nearly 20 years ago. To this day, I still think it’s one of the best romantic comedy’s ever made, this is coming from somebody who dosen’t like the genre much because of the repetitive formula.
