The Cringe Factor
As soon as this week’s Vocal challenge about cringey TV shows to binge watch to, the first thing that came to my head was Simon Cowell’s kingdom of talent shows that have been dominating screens for nearly twenty years. I have a serious love/hate relationship with these kind of shows. As a child, I was a big fan of Pop Idol and The X Factor.

How To Be Invisible
Naomi tapped on Bertie’s bobble hat. “Look Bertie...” she said, pointing to a little black book under her arm. The young boy squinted, trying to make out the silver letters against the black fabric. “What is it?” He couldn’t tell what it meant, but he had a feeling that something good was going to happen. His elder sister never smiled unless she was getting something.

Kate Bush Albums Ranked
Why Kate Bush is One of My Favourite Singers? I think she is one of the best singers ever because of her immense talent and artistry. Even though the music industry remains male-dominated, I think it’s wonderful that a woman like Kate Bush can still inspire many generations many years after Wuthering Heights was released. Wuthering Heights was the first UK number one single to be written by a woman, and she was very young at the time as well. I love how theatrical, experimental and progressive her music is. Her influence an timeless records can still be heard on many records today.

Why Did It Take Me 20 Years To Complete The Pokédex On Pokémon Crystal
I have been a fan of the franchise all my life. My favourite generation out of all of them is Generation II and Crystal is one of my favourite games. I’ve played it so many times, but never completed the Pokédex in Crystal before...until now.

My First Pokémon Nuzlocke Challenge
I’ve been playing the games since they first came out in the UK. However, this is the first time I have ever played a Nuzlocke. Since it was the first time I played and fully gone through with it, I thought it would be nice to do my first Nuzlocke playthrough in a Gen 1 game. I went with my German copy of Blue that I had purchased on them 3DS’s e-shop. I’ve played the first generation of Pokémon in French, English, Japanese and German. I’m only fluent in English, but I liked seeing the Pokémon names in another language.

Quarantine Trends
2020 was one of the weirdest years I’ve ever had. Sometimes it was amazing and sometimes horrible and the rest of it was downright bizarre. It felt like I had been warped into another dystopian universe. The birth of a new decade has created many fashion trends, some for the better and some are almost as grizzly as the virus itself.

Beyoncé Albums Ranked
Beyoncé has been in the spotlight at a young age. There’s not many people who don’t know who she is. Weather you know her as one third/quarter of Destiny’s Child, an actress, wife of Jay-Z, fashion designer or as a singer. Either way, you will see Beyoncé use the theme of female empowerment in everything she does. Whatever she does, she always takes the lead. She’s no stranger to controversy, but she seems to embrace it.

How I’m Doing 2021
2021 will hopefully be a Renaissance for all of us, even though the start of the year hasn’t been very hopeful. The vaccines have been rolling out, but I know several people who have fallen ill form it. I can’t have it until next month and my second dose in March. I will need to have it anyways if I want to travel the world again. Since travelling will be out of the question for the time being, I need to find other ways to improve myself and keep myself occupied without burning myself out. I did this a lot in 2020, and always found myself tired and exhausted and feeling like a failure when I can’t do everything at once.

Make Believe
I glance beneath the soggy branches and muddy terrains. Where did all the humans go? There used to be thousands of them coming into the forest every day, scaring my babies with their chaos. In one way, it’s good. They’re not coming into our home and leaving their litter everywhere. On the other hand, I love their curiosity. I just wish I could do something about the rubbish.

Kindness On Vocal
Vocal has changed a lot past few years. I have been a member of this site for three and a half years and has seen changes even though the interface and the concept remains the same. You can write about whatever you want on Vocal and get paid for it. Vocal has grown a lot since I last joined and there has always been a lot of competition to get more reads and hopefully some tips for their work.

Albums I like Critics Hated
Sweet 7 - Sugababes The album deserved to be panned for terrible lyrics, auto-tune-happy-overproduction and offering no originality. It’s true that the album lacks identity and is out of place in Sugababes’ discography. What wasn’t okay was how the girls in the group Were treated. I am still fond of the album, even though I know it’s not their best work. About a Girl, No More You and Little Miss Perfect were nice tracks. I don’t like Get Sexy or Wear My Kiss anymore. It used to be a fun album to listen to, but as my taste in music has changed I don’t care about it as much as I used to. I still kinda like it though.

Don’t Forget To Close The Door Behind You
Within four years in power you have divided the U.S.A and encited entertainment, endless memes and caused protests all over the world. Your tenure in caused politics into a taboo subject in social circles. Many people call you a reincarnation of Adolf Hitler, but I would say you are more of the second coming of Henry VIII: a man who loves power, women and would be willing do everything to get what you want to get it, even if it meant dividing a country and a nation.
