A Look at the 2025 Monday Night Football Schedule
Are you ready for some Vocal?! After much messing around, finally, here's the conclusion of the 2025 NFL schedule preview. It started with the Sunday Night Football preview, followed by the Thursday Night Football on Prime preview, the international games, and the holiday games. Now it's time to talk about the spot that ends nearly every week of NFL action: Monday Night Football.

MLB Pennant Race 2025: Goodbye August, Hello September Chaos
Well, baseball fans, it's that time again. The month of August is over, and now, the real fun begins. The month of September has arrived, and it will be quite a chaotic month indeed. Of course, September is the final month of the regular season in baseball, and it's the very month where the numbers start to thin out. There are 28 days, four weeks even, left in the season. September 28 ends the 2025 regular season, and the postseason actually starts on September 30, the final day of the month. This is the fourth year of the playoff format that sends six teams per league (12 total) to the postseason. Three division winners and three Wild Cards, with the top two division winners getting byes to the Division Series. The other teams will play in the best-of-three Wild Card Series, with home field going to the better seed (#3 or #4). It's a fixed bracket all the way; the winner of #3 vs #6 faces #2, and the winner of #4 vs #5 faces #1.

California Dreams (2025 NFC West Preview)
As a Southern Californian, I do enjoy the NFC West as much as I enjoy the AFC West, because the division lands on my TV screens a lot. However, I am more of an NFC guy, so I do look at the NFC West more intently, especially because this is the division that has had interesting encounters with the Packers. Recent years have seen this iteration of the NFC West serve as the conference's strongest division. The division races have been strong, and the division has been represented in the Super Bowl a lot since the 2002 realignment, including four appearances in the last decade.

CFL Week 12 Recap: So You're Telling Me There's a Chance
The final week before Labour Day saw the Toronto Argonauts, the defending Grey Cup Champions, on life support. 2-8 record, worst in the league, and it looked like the team was dead. The first half of Week 12's Saturday doubleheader saw the Argos at home against the BC Lions, and this was do or die for the Boatmen. Well, more like sink or swim. It didn't look good for the Argos. Down 14-3 after one quarter. It looked like the makings of yet another disappointing loss that would see the Argos' season come to an abrupt and embarrassing end.

Dirty Birds Done Dirt Cheap (2025 NFC South Preview)
For the last decade or so, the NFC South has been a very ugly division, but it's also entertaining. I figured out why I tend to be entertained by the NFC South so much: it's because three-quarters of the division was part of the old geographically incorrect NFC West. The division also has the distinction of being the only one out of the eight which completely consists of teams who debuted during the Super Bowl era, with the Falcons celebrating their 60th season this year.

"The Man from R.I.V.E.R.D.A.L.E." Review
To think--it all started wit a childhood birthday gift. That's all it took for me to become a lifelong fan of Archie Comics. I've been reading Archie Comics in some form for 33 years. Comic books, digests, double digests, subscribing, buying old ones from friends, and yes, online. I pretty much know the odds and ends of Archie Comics, from the stories to the TV adaptations--one of the most notable ones being the Riverdale series that aired for seven seasons on The CW.

Pros and Cons: Clash in Paris' Women's Intercontinental Championship Contest
Expect the unexpected. Those are words to live by. At Evolution, Stephanie Vaquer won a #1 Contender's Battle Royal to earn an opportunity at the Women's World Championship at Clash in Paris, which will take place on August 31. We figured that we'd get a big clash between Rhea Ripley and Vaquer, but a Money in the Bank cash-in changed that. Things appeared to be set in stone after the title didn't change hands at SummerSlam.

"Beyond the Gates" Week 25 Review
Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. Week 24 of Beyond the Gates ended with the wild and insane revelation that the scheming Dana Leslie Thomas was the actual biological daughter of Barbara Mitchell, the fallen member of the Articulettes R&B group led by Anita Dupree. The revelation was made by Leslie's adopted mother, Peaches, on the August 15 episode of the soap. I said it in the Week 24 recap, and I'll repeat it here: Leslie became the most dangerous entity on the soap, even more so than Joey Armstrong.

Cold War (2025 NFC North Preview)
The NFC North. Chaotic. Gritty. Insane. Monstrous. And that's just the Packers. As a Packers fan, I enjoy this division so much. Honestly, even if I was a fan of a different team, I'd enjoy this division. These four teams have co-existed together for over sixty years, all together in that same Midwestern cluster, all in that cold weather (though the Lions and Vikings actually play indoors). Last year was a wild mess in the NFC North, a wild, unexpected mess, indeed. The mess will remain, but I do expect some things to change--some for the better, some not so much.

Spellbound (Part 2)
Ottawa, Canada's national capital, was highly excited. Platinum Women's Wrestling's event, Power Trip, had arrived, and the main event was a big one. A four-on-four Elimination Match was set to take center stage. On one side: Maxine Daniels, Beatrice Baxter, Hannah Young, and the "Iron Maiden" Shannon Fox. Their opponents: the wicked Robichaux sisters--Céline, Juliette, Véronique, and Vivienne--sisters in sorcery. Maxine and Céline were the leaders in this rivalry, which had gone on for a decade and was the continuation of a feud involving their respective mothers from over two decades ago.

CFL Week 11 Recap: East vs West
It seems like yesterday that I was counting down the days until the CFL season started. Here it is, reaching the latter week-plus in August, and the CFL season has reached the midpoint, while the NFL season is right around the corner. Week 11 of this season sees a central theme: it's East vs West. Even more similar, the West teams are all at home hosting their East opponents.
