The Last Spring
I don't remember when it started but I do remember how it began. Industry found a way to reach 100% efficiency pumping out millions of consumer products by the second only to be topped by the millions of gallons of waste that came with it. At first the level of pollution seemed to stay the same but one day it changed in an instant. I can still remember the news, thousands of deep sea animals washed up on shore followed by millions upon millions of fish. You could literally walk on all the dead animals that had come up from the shallows. Scientists said it was a result of the changing polarity at first but then they tested the water. They found that the whole ocean had been suddenly contaminated by toxic waste put out by the factories.
