This perfect storm of frightening events led to the most harrowing experience of my life. My name is Dominic. Since I’m a poor 19-year-old, I don’t have a car. I work the night shift at a retirement home. Usually, it’s a cakewalk. Occasionally, residents will sleepwalk or absentmindedly leave their rooms. It’s easy enough to get them sorted.

Les is More
So many people in our lives become acquaintances. We may smile and wave at each other. We may exchange pleasantries. It’s nice to have such people around. It’s even more special when we can truly call someone a friend. Les (Lesley Anne Weatherdale) is someone easy to befriend. Not only does her smile make me want to smile back, but she is also intelligent, kind, and generous. I am so honored that I can call Les a friend.

Fun with Grammar
There is nothing more grating to an author’s ears or eyes than hearing or seeing poor grammar. I know I’m “preaching to the choir” on this topic, and yet, I’ve seen many grammatical errors right here on Vocal. I’ve been caught a few times myself. Usually it’s just a typo, but more on that later. Some people would be well advised to get the free version of Grammarly. At least twice, I stopped reading stories because the grammar was atrocious.
