Wesley's 2026 Wild Card Predictions
Greetings, baseball nerds! In my last story, I shared my predictions on who would win each division in 2026. Just in case you missed it, I'll have a link to it down below for your convenience. In this story, I'll share which teams who might have a chance of seeing October next year. Before the 2026 MLB season begins, I'll be writing and publishing another story comparing both my division and Wild Card picks to what FanGraphics has chosen. That will take place sometime before the regular season begins, so be on the lookout for that. Now, on to my Wild Card picks!

Wesley's 2026 Division Winner Predictions
The MLB Postseason is still going on, but it doesn't mean that it's too early to focus on the 2026 MLB season. I'll only be focusing on my picks to win each division next season, then I'll make my Wild Card predictions in the next story. Be sure to like this story when you get finished reading it, follow me on my socials, subscribe to my page on here, and if you really love my work, please reward me with a one-off tip at the end of this story. That way, I'll continue to write and publish new stories. Plus, you'll be supporting creators like me.

My Experiences Doing Cosplay Photoshoots
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. As someone who has attended many conventions as a former cosplayer, one of my favorite things to take part of were cosplay photoshoots. They're a great way to be yourself and let your personality loose. I've participated in a few of these and stick around, because I'll hare with you one cosplay photoshoot that was the most enjoyable and memorable. If you're new to Vocal or aren't familiar with my stories, I was a cosplayer for 10 years before retiring last October. Cosplay photoshoots take place either outside of venues where conventions take place or any spot of your choice. While most photoshoots are free, others require a charge in order for the photographer to take amazing shots of you. My very first cosplay photoshoot took place back in 2016 while attending an anime convention, where I went as a genderbent Harley Quinn. I made a mallet to go with my cosplay. Was it the best I've ever made? Probably not, but I had a good time that weekend. I'll share a story about a photoshoot that took place at a local park.

There's a New 'Skip'-per in Town
The title of this story was no pun intended, but very creative at the same time. Anyway, the Texas Rangers not being in the playoffs isn't anything new to the team or fans. All we can look forward to is Spring Training in February and the 2026 MLB regular season. With the Postseason currently in progress, the Rangers will come back even stronger in the new year. Hopefully, 2026 will see them back in the playoffs and possibly, an AL West title, something they haven't won since 2016.

The Last One Standing: Seattle Mariners
According to multiple sources, the Los Angeles Dodgers are still the heavy favorites to win the World Series. However, I beg to differ on that. The Seattle Mariners success this season has been recognized and noticed by the league and baseball world. It's all due to mainly one player: Cal Raleigh. He's been breaking records left and right and I believe that the Mariners will not only reach the World Series, but to win it all. Raleigh will be named World Series MVP. I made both of these predictions in my Postseason story, which you can read down below.

The One Sega Genesis Game Everyone Should Play At Least Once
As someone who has been playing video games for 35 years, I love talking about the games I enjoyed the most. One of them was Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master. The hack-and-slash platform game, which was released in July 1993, is one that everyone should play at least once. The Shinobi series dates back to 1987, with the first game, Shinobi, released on November 16 of that year. Fun fact: this came out three days after I was born. As of August 2025, Shinobi: Art of Vengeance is the thirteenth game in the series, released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. In this story, however, I'll be solely focusing on Shinobi III and the things I liked and disliked the most about it. Out of respect for my readers and subscribers, I won't spoil the ending. I'll only say this: it's going to leave you in awe.

Halloween 2025 Belongs to the Angels
Halloween, the spookiest time of the year, is only a few weeks away. It's one of my favorite days of the year and always look forward to dressing up. I retired from cosplay nearly a year ago after 10 fantastic years of doing this amazing craft. Don't get me wrong. I loved doing cosplay and attending conventions with my friends. I'll always appreciate the memories I've made while doing cosplay. However, it didn't mean that celebrating Halloween was automatically off the table. In fact, this will be my first Halloween, post-cosplay retirement. Also, it'll be my 16th consecutive year celebrating Halloween. I started dressing for this spooky day back in 2010 while I was attending college, where I dressed up as Superman at a party on campus. I ended up winning first place in a costume contest and the top prize was $50. Since then, I won two more Halloween costume contests, including last year at work where I dressed up as Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson and also won first place. I'll have a link to the DIY last year at the end of the story.

Another Year, Same Results
You can't see me right now, but I'm rolling my eyes and sighing at the same time. Before the season began, the Texas Rangers had very high expectations. Joc Pederson, who was brought in a trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks last offseason, declared that the Rangers would win the AL West. Major League Baseball is a 162-game season, but no team should be comfortable or content with losing. This team has been plagued with injuries yet again, but I don't like blaming injuries due to a losing season. How does a team go from being two games behind for a final Wild Card spot to missing the playoffs altogether? The answer is simple: they let an opportunity slip through their fingers. The Rangers finish the 2025 MLB season with a record of 81-81 and finished third in the AL West. At least it's better than finishing under .500.

Taking a Huge Leap of Faith
Six months ago, I wrote a story about how being gay and a Christian was acceptable. Yes, I can be both. Why should I choose one over the other? I know it's a bit controversial, but I'm not ashamed to say it. For the past five years, I've been through so many heartbreaks and challenges. One of them was the passing of my beloved grandfather in the summer of 2022. He was the only relative that I was close with and I took his loss very hard. I wasn't able to attend his funeral in New York, due to work commitments and transportation issues. So, I didn't get a chance to say goodbye to him. An enormous amount of guilt hovered over my head. Nearly a week after he was laid to rest, I continued to go to work, despite me feeling distraught and filled with emotions. This feeling was present up to the one-year anniversary of my grandfather's passing. At the time, I had feelings of self-doubt and not being good enough at work. I considered quitting my job several times, due to the fact that the person that I loved so much was no longer here and dealing with confidence issues. However, I made a promise to myself and my late grandfather that I wouldn't quit the career that has been rewarding and respected by everyone at the office.

The Very First Game I've Ever Played
Earlier this month, one of my favorite NES games recently turned 40. That game was Super Mario Bros. At the time of its release in 1985, funny enough, 40 million copies of the classic game were sold. These don't include ports and re-releases. I was born two years and a month after it came out. Yes, I'm showing my age here a bit. I was lucky and fortunate to be born in one of the best decades. Picture this: it's New Year's Eve 1989 and just for context, it was also my now estranged father's birthday. At the time, I was a two-year-old who discovered video games for the first time. Seeing my father's NES made me curious and popped Super Mario Bros. inside the game console. For the new generation, the NES games we played came in cartridges. To make sure the game worked properly, you would have to blow inside the cartridge a few times, pop it in the console, and hopefully it'll work.
