Bees In The Honey
He saw the slightest glint of metal from across the valley, their signal to prepare, and offered his own quick glint in the midday sun. Sheathing his knife, Ranger Captain Grambel checked his bowstring one last time. It should have been in perfect order, he’d checked it at least four times today, but on this last inspection he saw it–the smallest of burrs attached just below the string nock. It was a little thing, and he pulled it off all the same.

Hunters (Redux)
Listen along as it should be experienced on Spotify or all other platforms HERE: *** I stand up next to a mountain George slammed his longsword into the contoured scabbard clinging to the back of his jumpsuit. The music blasted throughout the C-130. He checked the seals of the gray jumpsuit before doing a final weapons check, feeling his excitement rising. George loved what he did, a fact that earned George’s firm-mandated shrink a new yacht.

Songs of the Silver Wizard
COMPENDIUM “The thing about dangerous friends is that they are dangerous, even if they are your friends.” Flames licked the air, dancing like tendrils of smoke that still carried the warmth of the fire. Thaddeus slammed his staff into the ground, and the courtyard shuddered as the wall of water met the unholy bonfire.

Lights Over London . Runner-Up in The Summer That Wasn’t Challenge. Top Story - July 2025.
“Madam, you should come below.” Elizabeth took a long drag on the cigarette tucked neatly in the ornate silver holder. She ashed it in the ivory tray sitting beside an untouched glass of brandy. “You know Dickie, I still remember the fireworks at old Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee. Sat right in this spot. I was sixteen, fresh from New York. Archie and his father lined the streets that day, and god knows what they did once the fireworks started,” She watched the horizon alight with activity while the tendrils of discarded cigarette ash swirled into the night through the open sitting room window. It was odd to see her London street all alive yet silently empty at the same time.

At The Edge Of Avalon
“… is that… you Sir…” “… Johston,” Felix the Thief lied with as much gusto as Sir Johston boasted to last night’s packed inn. He wasn’t proud of the impersonation, but if the knight was true this Lord’s quest came with a hefty sum of gold attached.

Milestones
Stones standing vigil Witness one destination Not lush adventures I’ve always been fond of the quest tale; enthralled with the idea that simply going to look for the Holy Grail was worthwhile even if you didn’t find it. Milestones are important measures–Hell, I have an entire business plan built out with month over month metrics I need to aim for in this writing endeavor, but it’s important to remember that, while they’re undeniably important, milestones often end up as dull bits of stone along the much wider road. Let them be your guides, not your destinations. The list of places to go in life always ends at six feet under. Take a second and enjoy the spaces in between.
