What Happened to Borealis?
When your parents give you an original name, you stand out. Borealis always stood out. Her pretty face certainly helped, and I was drawn to her immediately. We both were in Washington DC for one of those middle school trips, our tour buses stopping at important site after important site. I never said more than an awkward hello, but I never forgot her either. Was it her name or that beautiful face?

Tuesday Trickled to Thursday
Tuesday trickled to Thursday. Time took twenty times the time. Tides turned towards terrible theories. The theory that Tiffany texted to Thom tested things. Tiffany thought Thom’s ticker ticked to the time Tessa talked. Thom thundered “That theory’s tripping!”

Haunted Days at the Amusement Park
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn’t my own. The crack running from left to right split the face in the reflection in two like a disgusting scar or a terrifying mouth. However, it was the eyes that were truly breathtaking. Their brown was almost golden. Their shape was just different enough to be unnerving, like some sort of distorted oval.

Cabochon and Birchrow Wood
The trees were evenly spaced, having been planted meticulously many years ago. The path through them was distinct with years of traffic between the two villages. Zimri, Big Dragon
Toddlers are naturally inquisitive and joyful. Forests are naturally colorful and beautiful. Dragons are naturally all of these things and more. Zimri was no exception, with her yellow-green scales and deep brown eyes. The toddler, sitting on the stump of a maple tree, was quietly sniffling, clearly lost. Zimri’s immense shadow made the little boy look up.

Dimoono
Nobody can hear a scream in the vacuum of space, or so they say. There were many screams as the first astronauts sought to land on Dimoono. Like ships lost at sea seeking the New World, many astronauts were lost trying to land on a planet with a similar atmosphere to Earth. Explosions, crashes, and lack of oxygen were just some of the causes of death in the vacuum of space. Twenty years and sixty-four astronauts would pass. The efforts would be beyond what the first settlers of the New World could have ever imagined. Many light years away Dimoono was found.
