Moon Magic Or Not
Moon Magic Or Not: Let's Dance John W. Gilmore “This beach is too crowded, Rodrigo.” “This is prime time. No wonder. You should come here when the tourist season is over, Man.” I just frowned. “You're here too much anyway, Paul. You need to get a job or something.”

King For A Night
King For A Night John W. Gilmore The 5th floor was the place to be in Johnson Hall on the weekends, and we started the weekend Thursday nights. The Residential Assistant would pack up his bags in the morning and take the Greyhound bus home for the weekend to avoid having to interfere with the Thursday night craziness, when we would order a keg of beer, turn up the music, and invite as many people as possible to crowd into a small dorm room with the challenge of kicking the keg before anyone went home.

It's Really Not So Sweet Part 2 John W. Gilmore Mechanics And The Like--Chapter 2 Dinner was good. Despite that the meat was printed, it tasted great, like regular steak. The vegetables were also great. They had grown them themselves an a very small hydroponic farm. All of them took turns tending to the crops so everyone would learn. It's Really Not So Sweet
It's Really Not So Sweet--Part 4 John W. Gilmore The Real Enemy--Chapter 7 I have never had such horrible dreams in my life. My God! I had been doing this since the Last War. My wife and children had died. I was distraught. I wanted revenge, but I didn't know who was at fault. Was it the enemy who had dropped the bomb? Was it the creators of the bomb shelter? Who was it? I began to look for answers.

It's Really Not So Sweet
It's Really Not So Sweet--Part 3 John W. Gilmore Sitting On A Sofa--Chapter 5 I slept well in the moving vehicle. It was smooth ride over the snow. Everything was quiet...no pounding rain on the roof, which was new. I loved the silence. I was sleeping in the loft bed this time, underneath the skylight, watching the snow fall onto the window and be blown off quickly from the motion of the van. I could lay like this all day since I was doing my job, traveling from one site to the next. I closed my eyes again.

Eggs, Rabbits And The Rhythm of Jazz In A City That Never Sleeps
Eggs, Rabbits And The Rhythm of Jazz In A City That Never Sleeps John W. Gilmore The City that never sleeps awakens despite being bruised, beaten and injured by the Covid 19 Pandemic. With fewer people in the streets some of the businesses have shut down as you walk up and down Broadway and along the streets of the upper west side. Some of the restaurants have set up small seating areas open to the elements so people can sit in and eat. Things are diminished. The subway is on a different schedule. The crowds aren’t as heavy, but life still goes on.

The Risk Of Rootie
The Risk Of Rootie: The Grit Robot John W. Gilmore She walked into the garage shop to see if her tractor was ready. Jeff was underneath another vehicle...a very old car doing some type of work. He loved working on antique vehicles. She saw her big green tractor parked in the corner alone, all by itself. It was almost an antique, but it was all she had. She needed a new one. She needed a lot. Who would think that someone her age would be starting up a landscaping business by herself. At least she had a young son who could help her during the summers and a working partner.

Don't Give Me No Bull
Don’t Give Me No Bull John W. Gilmore Just another day in Costa Rica, during the dry season. In Santa Anna de Piedades there was always a soft, gentle breeze. Fran and I sat in the Unity Church of Costa Rica located at the top of a hill on its own little campus at a workshop on some type of meditation or the other. It was too long ago for me to remember. I do remember how much Sarah and Benjamin enjoyed it--just as much we enjoyed them.

Off The Beaten Path
Off Of The Beaten Path John W. Gilmore Since the invention of the internet and better technology small towns with a lot of activities are the places that offer the best of both worlds...the excitement of the city and the warmth of a small community. Many of the small towns in Montgomery county and other areas, like some of the sections of Philadelphia, are beginning to blossom and offer the type of community people want. The town of Ambler in Montgomery County, PA offers the tranquility of a small town with a lot of activity. Unfortunately, due to the Covid Epidemic a lot of activity has really slowed. Let us hope that it will return to its former state as things get better.
