Poetic Words
I have been writing about my dad popular Latvian poet and writer Eriks Raisters. My dad’s life in his homeland Latvia was interrupted by WW II and he had to go into exile. That is never easy, especially for a poetic soul. Since he died in New York in 1967 he never got to return home and his poetic voice was stilled. One of the best ways to understand the soul of the poet is by finding out more about him and his poetry.

When the Other Shoe Drops
Life was good maybe too good not everyone can say this I know. I had an old two-story house in the suburbs of Riga, Latvia with a large garden. In May the lilacs bloomed and sent perfume through the air. My five apple trees and one pear tree blossomed each sping and made the garden into a with white blossoms carried by the southern breezes like snow in springtime. I had my soul mate and he and I loved each other and we had a wonderful cat named Sid who we both loved a lot. Any problems or complaints? None.

Stuff Nightmares Are Made Of
I do believe that there are some amazing creatures in this world that do not seem to really be real. Many times stories are told about make-believe creatures and soon people are believing they just might be out there. One such creature is known as Bunyips and this legendary creature supposedly could be found in Australia.

The Venices Of The World
There is only one Venice, Italy with its many canals and gondolas. You can cross the many quaint bridges and enjoy the cafes on the many squares. However, there are places that claim to be Venices because of their similarities to the original and you can have your choice of how far you want to travel to imagine you are in the city of canals.
