Adolescence Series Review
The UK small-screen has often played host to emotional stories that plant the audience in the heart of downtrodden communities or individuals with deep personal problems. Director Phillip Barantini created Boiling Point and Jack Thorne took on This Is England with actor Stephen Graham in a leading role. Shifting into a highly contemporary problem, the trio brings us Adolescence, an excellent series in every way.

Black Bag Movie
Modern spy stories have taken different shapes outside of the big franchises. Some opt for the small-screen approach while others lean into the classical Cold War setting of novels. Black Bag, the latest release from Steven Soderbergh, carves out its own space. How? By stripping things back to the bare essentials.

Invincible Series Review (Season 3)
Debuting in 2021 on the small screen, Robert Kirkman’s Invincible achieved high acclaim for a different take on superheroes. It shows no sign of slowing down as Season 3 takes flight; across eight episodes, the series delivers another excellent package.

Mickey 17 Movie Review
Rising from small-scale monster movies to blistering social commentary, Bong Joon-ho is easily the most successful director in South Korea. Captain America: Brave New World Movie Review
From 2011 through to 2019, Captain America became one of the most beloved characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He also delivered the most consistent and worthwhile trilogy in the wider franchise. After a five-year break, the torch has been passed to a new bearer; try as it might, this latest entry is merely passable.

The Brutalist Movie Review
The epic period drama receives far less attention than it did decades ago. In a landscape dominated by blockbusters with mass-appeal, The Brutalist is incredibly bold with a huge runtime and content aimed at adults. Brady Corbet’s latest film delivers a powerhouse production that deserves many accolades.

Better Man Movie Review
Musical biopics continue to be popular in modern cinema with artists like Amy Winehouse and Bob Marley making their way to the silver screen. Better Man marks the turn of Robbie Williams with the help of Michael Gracey and his production crew. It may not rank at the top of the pile, but it’s still a very enjoyable musical.

Nosferatu Movie Review
In 1922, Nosferatu created one of the first and most revered cinematic nightmares, pioneering many horror tropes that still exist today. Over a century after the silent era, a new rendition has arrived from Robert Eggers. Like all of his previous films, it’s a superb effort from top to bottom.
