'The Big Bang Theory'
Parodies can be fun—a lot of fun—especially when it's about one of the best shows on TV. The Big Bang Theory has been on major TV for 12 seasons and has some of the highest ratings of all time—not to mention local time slots as well as cable programming. The show attracts all audiences, from nerds to people who like comedy. Unlike some sitcoms that attract mostly women, while others that attract men, The Big Bang Theory targets all audiences, with over eight million viewers a week during there primetime slot.

'The Tallest Man in the World'
The Tallest Man in the World at best is very vague. Written by Ailis Ni Riain, an Irish playwright, who is a classical composer as well as a published writer. Her aim is to produce works that challenge, to provoke and engage the audience.

'Veronica's Room'
Robert Massimi. Veronica's Room at the Bergen County Players, is a deep, well-moving show. Written by Ira Levin (Rosemary's Baby, Stepford Wives, A Kiss Before Dying), Levin always brings the perverse to his writings. Levin, who was born and lived in Manhattan wrote till this day, one of my favorite plays, Deathtrap. What is most notable about Levin, is that his writings often have a lot of twists and turns, which require a lot of thought. Veronica's Room is no different.

'The Day Before Spring'
Robert Massimi. It should have been an omen. The show today was scheduled for 2:30, but the York theater waited until the house finally filled up around 2:50 before artistic director James Morgan took the stage and addressed the audience for about another seven minutes.

Theater Review 'Kiss Me Kate'
Robert Massimi. Kiss Me Kate, which is in previews and opens March 14th, is a legendary musical composed by Cole Porter and written by Sam and Bella Spewack. The story is based on Lilli Vanessi (Kelli O'Hara) and Fred Graham (Will Chase), who were once married and are putting on a show in Baltimore, a musical comedy of "The Taming of the Shrew."

'Exposed'
Robert Massimi. In writing on theater since 1982, the shows I enjoy the most are the "hidden gems" that are performed at off Broadway houses. Exposed is one of those "hidden gems." Brilliantly written, directed and acted, this 85 minute intermission-less play seems to go by with the blink of an eye.

'The Trial of the Catonsville Nine'
Robert Massimi. Catonsville Nine had some real good things to it; the play had some disturbing things, and some elements that did not belong. The play is put forth by the Transport Group at the Abrons Arts Center. The play takes place on the stage with the audience in the round. A small, intimate setting, the audience can view the desks that hold Life Magazine's pictures of the war. The desks also hold what look like bomb devises, a record player and file cabinets.

'True West'
Austin (Paul Dano) is the mild brother, a Hollywood screenwriter holed up in his mother's house and working away at his newest screenplay. Lee (Ethan Hawke) is the wild brother, a desert rat and sometimes thief, with a long history of problems.

Directorfest
Robert Massimi. 35 years ago, the Drama League founded the first home in North America dedicated to the development of young directors—the Drama League Director's Project, which today includes dozens of award-winning fellowships, residencies, and education opportunities for directors on Broadway, off-Broadway and at hundreds of regional and international theater companies. The Director's Project today boasts 350 alumni, many famous names, such as Mark Brokaw, West Hyler, Pam MacKinnon, Alex Timbers, Michael Mayer, and Sam Gold, to name a few. The list is too big to name all the people that this project has put forth. It gives many great artists the opportunity that they normally would not have had to develop their craft as stage directors.
