One year, lessons learned for better or worse
2021 was a rough year for me, if I'm being honest. The pandemic hit me hard, even though it was delayed. When the pandemic first happened in 2020, it wasn't that hard for me. But my lessons were delayed. By 2021, like most people, I was over it and tired. The isolation that I felt finally hit me, and I felt more alone than ever in 2021. People would say that I had my daughter, so I wasn't alone. But there is a difference between the company of a 5-year-old and the company of adults. In 2021, I feel like I lost contact with a lot of people. And it really shut me down. As we end 2021 I am looking back at a tough year, to learn the lessons that I need to learn. And looking forward to a new year, with a positive attitude, clear space and open heart.

When we feel like we are struggling, I wonder why it is that we look at everything else other than our sleep. When in reality our sleep is the biggest factor to our overall mood. We always want a quick fix. So we try every short term fix we can think of. Caffeine, pills, little mood boosters, every fix that people will tell us will make things better.

My 30-day Journal Journey
When you tell people that you are lost, usually they will say something along the lines of telling you to do what brings you joy. When I was feeling lost and depressed, every video I watched or article I read, said something about joy and doing what you love. However, when I really thought about it, I didn't know what that meant. I was so lost and depressed that I couldn't see what brought me joy. I understood the answer, but I didn't know what that meant for me. The thing about being depressed and lost is that you have a problem finding joy in life. So trying to make a life plan around joy and happiness was hard for me to come up with. That was when I read something that would bring me more clarity.

The betrayal

The loneliness of being a single parent
It seems that nowadays, all you can see are single parents making it look so easy. Like life is all sunshine and rainbows. That you just have to buy their course and they can teach you to work for an hour a day, and you get to have the picture perfect life. It's easy to see that, and to think that is what life should be like. To compare your life to theirs, and think that it should be the same. But real life is not sunshine and rainbows. It isn't perfect. And I break it to you, but it isn't easy at all.
