A Lid for Every Kettle
I know a thing or two about breasts, from personal experience. Having been a skinny pre-teen longing for my mother to finally let me wear a real bra, to a fourteen-year-old coming home from Summer camp overflowing my training bra with 36 C breasts. Going from invisible to very visible in two short weeks. I had no idea why my older sister’s boyfriends were suddenly paying attention to me, the annoying little sister, who they used to shoo away.

Body Bag Barry
Recently, I was searching an online dating site. Don't ask me why. I'm happily married. Perhaps I just wanted to see if I was as invisible as I felt. After the first fifteen minutes with a current photo on my profile, twenty or so eager fellows were sending me hearts and asking to chat. Wow. After an hour there was a steady stream of requests to meet or chat.

And then, there was one
My boyfriend, Jake, and I had just spent the evening discussing our latest dilemma, my pregnancy. He had driven like a maniac to an open diner through two feet of snow because he couldn't stand being cooped up in my hotel room all night. When we got back to the parking lot at the hotel after breakfast, there were snowdrifts covering up an icy mess. His truck plowed through it effortlessly and he pulled up close to the door of the room.

A Tragic Relief
The snow fell steadily as Jake and I drove back to the hotel from Old City, after our beautiful day walking about the landmark ancient town that was decked out in Christmas twinkle and pine. My gullible heart had been captured again by my lying, cheating, bastard of a boyfriend, who had driven ten hours to find me dancing at a new strip club in Quebec City. Flattery will get him everywhere- at least with me.

Life Inside a Snow Globe
My boyfriend, Jake, had found me on the Monday night before New Year's Eve in 1976. I'd left the club I'd been working at in his hometown without saying anything to him because our whole seven-month love affair was just pointless and heartbreaking. I'd been dancing at the strip club in Quebec City for a week before he figured out where I'd gone and during that time I'd made friends with the congenial Master of Ceremonies, Jean Luc, and his lover, Sol. I was the kid they never wanted.

Retirement Escapades. Top Story - January 2023.
It’s 3 AM, and I’m sitting in an emergency room with my husband, who is writhing in pain on the hospital bed. I hold his hand and think of the incident that caused such excitement on our quiet street at midnight and wonder how I will ever be able to hold my head up at our little post office in the future.

Take Me to Church
My life had been slowly falling apart since meeting my current boyfriend, Jake, in July. In my head I knew what had to be done, the rest of me hadn't quite caught up though, and my heart was breaking. I needed to search my soul and knew exactly where to do that.

Gotta Get a Gimmick
In the second year of my exotic dancing career, my agent in Rochester decided it was time for me to experience working on the road, and booked me into the Ohio theater circuit. In 1975 I was twenty-one years old, sophisticated, and mature, thinking I'd seen it all.

You've Given Me a Million Reasons
I'd been booked into a hotel with a strip club in Hamilton, Ontario for a whole month at the end of December 1976. Hamilton was my boyfriend, Jake's hometown and he still lived there with his wife- who I pretended did not exist.

Snakes, Nudity and Snowstorms
My last booking for 1976 was in Hamilton, Ontario at a historic hotel that had been around for over a century. Hanrahan's had once been home to gangsters and underworld characters in the early 1900s, who were making money on bootleg booze that was shipped by boat to Buffalo, New York. Now, its existence was hanging by the frayed elastic on strippers' G-Strings, hoping to make it another hundred years.
