Liv Hanna Showcases Her Versatility in New Record

Towards the end of last year, AWAL's Liv Hanna released the Pop-Punk single, "AGAIN3X," which was a new sound from her. "AGAIN3X" provided the perfect amount of nostalgia for listeners. The budding singer-songwriter then followed that song and closed out the month/year with, "star signs." The record was a return to her typical sound, blending various Pop genres, such as Dream Pop, Indie Pop, and Pop Rock.

What is "star signs" about?

The autumn anthem was perfect for cuffing season. The track explored yearning love. "'star signs' is about craving that all-encompassing love and wanting it to be reciprocated." Singer-songwriter Liv Hanna continued, "In the song, she’s imploring him to stay with her and love her unconditionally, and explaining how they are meant to be." Liv Hanna cleverly utilized the intersection of astrology and love as a metaphor.

The beautiful record highlighted Liv Hanna's exuberant, soothing vocals and sensational, introspective/extrospective penmanship. The captivating song was produced by a pair of renowned producers, Joe Lindsay and Flex, both of whom are frequent collaborators with Liv Hanna. The record was met with much acclaim.

The budding songstress now makes her 2025 debut and kicks off the month of love with a lovely new single, "GOODNIGHT." "GOODNIGHT" is a Hyperpop song with Drum and Bass flair. It marks Liv Hanna's first dabble into the genre. She masterfully blends Electronic and Pop sounds while showcasing her impeccable vocals. Liv Hanna's bold, daring sound in "GOODNIGHT" does not disappoint, and wows all that listen. 

What is "GOODNIGHT" about?

Songbird Liv Hanna is no stranger to touching on the topic of love/relationships. "GOODNIGHT" continues with that theme. The up-tempo song dives into self-love and self-worth. "The relationship/'love' is just enough for me to keep coming back, but I finally have the strength and self-respect to let go, and walk away," Liv Hanna states.

The vibrant track was penned by Liv Hanna and produced by renowned producer Jake Sonderman. The 21-year-old sensation is en route to take the year by storm. She already has another song slated for release at the end of the month, "Forever, Whenever." It features rising music artist Midas. It is the first collaboration between the two talents, but surely will not be the last. Liv Hanna is only getting better with every release, and "GOODNIGHT" is a testament to her evolution.

Tell us a bit about your background – how did you get into music?

I grew up surrounded by music, listening and being influenced by many genres. I also began voice and piano lessons at a young age and immediately fell in love with singing. I went on to participate in theater camps, community theater, and (MYO) Metropolitan Youth Orchestra for many years. I introduced myself to every aspect of music and eventually began songwriting at around twelve years old. I began recording in studios at fourteen, and it instantly became my favorite place.
