60s music
Groove along to Beat Media's breakdown of the bands, artists, songs and culture that defined the 60s.
The Phenomenal Fab Four
The Beatles came on the scene when they were most needed by the world of rock and roll. With their unusual hairstyles, awesome music, and popularity they quickly became known as The Fab Four. However, it seemed that as quickly as they skyrocketed to fame they were also changing in many different ways and even though you would expect that a band like this would have kept on rockin' they disbanded after releasing 12 albums. But with all the compilations and other special releases, it was enough to make them legends and very successful on their solo musical journeys.

Sugar and Honey Sweet Love
Sugar and honey are two terms used as endearment between partners. They are interchangeable and can be used when referring to either females or males. When in love usually it gives the person being addressed a warm all-over feeling that their partner loves them so very much. I remember back in high school a very silly saying that had me and my girlfriends laughing until tears came to our eyes – “sure as the grass grows round the stump, you are my darling sugar lump”. These terms have inspired many songs. Among these one of my favorites is “Sugar Baby Love”. Which is yours?

Always a Lady
Lady is a nice respectable term to refer to a woman. Of course, there are those with no respect, who yell, “Hey, Lady!” I am referring to this as a positive term. Many terrific songs have been inspired by the term lady. One of my top favorites is “Three Times a Lady”. Which is your favorite?

Feline Like A Song
Introduction I was not sure that I had already done and looking through my stories I don't think I have. I didn't think there were that many songs that related to cats apart from those from Disney films and "Love Cats" by The Cure, but then I started to remember that there was quite a lot in my collection. The beat generation referred to the cool ones as cats so there may be a few where the feline referral is more than a little ambiguous.
