Flashback to Living My Dream. Third Place in Flashback Challenge.
Just four short (or really long, depending on how I feel in the moment) months ago I was performing on the Marriott Stage at 11:00 pm on the closing night of The NAMM Show 2020 in Anaheim, CA. It was my biggest show to date, and I can still feel the adrenaline from that night when I think back to it. Coming off of the show, I had momentum like I've never had before, and I was more than ready to keep rolling with the live shows, the travel, and the growing of my music career. Then COVID happened.

The 004 vs. COVID19
We're living in very strange times. We are seeing the best and worst of humanity. With the uncertainties of the global lockdown, it is very heartwarming to see that content creators are still going out of their way to create more content to boost the morale like my good friends, The 004 are doing with their music video to Nothing I Can't Achieve titled on Youtube as 30 countries united against #COVID19.

The Time Beach House Hit Me Right in the Feels
I’m lying on the floor in a fetal position with music tumbling in my ears. I press my cheek down against the ground, stare up at the My Bloody Valentine album hanging on my wall, and water the faux-fur carpet beneath me with salty tears. The stray crumbs from an age-old Nature Valley bar dig into my side, and, on my desk, a stray noodle lies flaccid next to an empty cup of Top Ramen. A diffuser sits in the corner, puffing out a blend of scents that traverse beneath my bed, rub into the pink rug I’m now scrunching between my fingers, and swirling in sync with my spinning record player.

Music is Medicine for the Soul..
1-20: Jess Glynne At the top of my quarantine playlist is the iconic Jess Glynne; starting with my favorite collaboration with Raye. I first discovered Jess Glynne in 2015 when she collaborated with Clean Bandit to create ‘Rather Be.’ Since that song came out she has released a few albums and they found their way to my playlist, some of the albums have a feel to it that makes you want to dance or the dishes and the others make you contemplate emotions like ‘Thursday’ or ‘Why Me.’ My absolute favorite from her recent album ‘Always in Between’ will have to be ‘I’ll Be There’ because it is uplifting to hear this amazing song about someone being there when you are at your lowest. I listen to Jess Glynne when I draw or walk around the block to get a clear head.

Rex Orange County has the uncapped ability to paint an emotional rollercoaster and it's his version of a song.
The original capture of his musical prowess for me was his album, Apricot Princess. The low-driven approach that softly tingles your heartstrings has worked the many times I need a song. Sometimes it's just a happy song, a relaxing song, one for studying, and one for being more emotional. I don't always choose his music, but it might just reappear on my queue. Before I know it, I'm enticed by the gentle caressing nature of his music alone. But this song storyline and wording has this ability to make me remember things that I wasn't thinking about and cause me to get emotional. And for that reason, it can provide something new to me each time I listen.
