'Homesick'—Kane Brown
I'm Brandon. I am from the San Francisco Bay Area in California. I am an 18-year-old freshman in college who has a passion for music and helping other people through it. I believe music is more powerful than education if it's used in the right way. I have been a songwriter for the last four and a half years of my life. My dream is to get signed to a record label by the end of this calendar year.

"Foothills" Music Video: A Multi-Parallel Journey
Standing at the Foothills “Foothills” the music video carries themes of reconnection, rebirth, and a shedding of the material world. Inspired by the song, the “Foothills” music video is about being at the base of a mountain, ready to climb toward my destiny. The narrative for the music video was co-written by Ryan Lampert, Ostara, and myself, Oriel Poole. More like a short film than a music video, the imagery in “Foothills” is rich with symbolism.

Arctic Monkeys: Back with a Bang in Birmingham
The latest stop on their 2018 UK tour brought Arctic Monkeys to the Barclaycard Arena in the centre of Birmingham. The Sheffield band treated the crowd to tracks from all six of their albums, including Tranquillity Base Hotel & Casino which was released earlier this year.

Girl Groups to Listen To
From the Spice Girls in the 90s to Little Mix now, the world has seen a whole lot of girl groups. The Fader released an article in June of 2018 hosting the question, "Where are all the girl groups?" In the article, they mentioned that it seemed like the world had a plethora of boy bands, but the girl groups were nowhere to be found. Then, they spent half of the article talking about boybands. Here's a hint: maybe, if they hadn't done so much in-depth research on the boybands of today, they would've been able to find some girl groups like the ones I'm about to mention. Here, the Fader, I did the dirty work for you!

Men Without Armies
The music I'm about to describe is not for the faint of heart. This is muscular rock music, original and raw, but it can also be melodic and thoughtful. A fusion of high energy rock, electronic, jazz, classical, tinged with, what I hear as almost Celtic music. Confused? Wait and I will try to explain why I come to this conclusion.

Julien Baker: Sad Songs for the Soul
Who would enjoy Julien Baker's music? A question I find difficult to answer, for all the right reasons. A wonderfully despair-ridden lyrical selection would draw in the lonelier side of the better of us. Blended with an atmospheric, yet isolated instrumental backing on the majority of her tracks, at first a listener could be led to believe that Baker's key focus is dwelling on the heartache of life and thus craves the affectionate attention of the forever damaged listener.

Best Trip Hop Artists
If there's one thing I enjoy, it's electronica. I'm the person who you go to when you want advice for your first rave. I can tell you all the best music festivals on the East coast, and can even introduce you to some of the bigger artists.

Combat Boots and Dive Bars
First Love...Concerts I've always been asked what is it that I love about concerts and I can't come up with a single reason but a never-ending list of reasons. It's the way when your favorite song is being sung to you when you're at a live show, or the way it creates goosebumps and send shivers down your spin. It is the refreshing first sip of your beer or soda, and you can't help but smile — you forget life's little nuances.

Allow Us to Introduce Ourselves...
When we first began our journey, we were in our small corner office in Young Avenue Sound, found in the trendy and historic, art infused community of Cooper Young. Our booking agency, Virtuosity Memphis, was still in its infancy, and we had a growing roster of talented clients. We were struggling with exposure and door gig offers, and almost weekly we had a meeting asking whether we should cut our losses and let it all go. Something told us that we were on to something. We didn’t have years of experience in the music industry, unlike many of our competitors, but that could very well be our advantage. We hadn’t been in the industry long enough to be changed by it. We had fresh perspectives, big dreams and a love for music that was always there.

Treasures in My Backyard
I grew up loving all types of music...but I'm a rock-n-roller from the roots of my hair right down to my core. I mean, I consider the band Staind to be THE BEST therapist I could ever ask for. To this day, if I were to ever meet Aaron Lewis or ANYONE from the band in person...I would hand them a check for all those years I listened to them and felt relief through singing their songs...along with punching my pillows during "Suffocate" and "Mudshovel" (laughing).
