Party Through the Past!
All Hallow's Eve. Samhain. Halloween. The names of one night dating back centuries, many traditions were lost throughout the years, a few stayed. People would dress as saints and sinners, knock on neighbours doors and sing silly songs, children were passed treats known as "soul cakes". Halloween today is much more embedded in popular culture and celebrated widely with each year many people trying to host the perfect spooky party. Costumes, treats and music have evolved through the decades. If Halloween wasn't enough of a theme for your party, how about an 80's themed Halloween party? Madonna or a white sheet both appropriate costume choices, perhaps recreate Michael Jackson's iconic Thriller video and host 80's zombies at your party.

Familiar
To understand the gravity of this story you must first try and understand me (if you figure me out shoot me some tips on how you got there please). I have a pretty unusual relationship with art. I enjoy art in all mediums, and I've always had a keen eye, and a better understanding than I should. Above any other; however, I have deep love for, and bond with music. Music is the only language I truly understand. My favorite thing to do is discover new artists (new to me, or up-and-coming) and share those artists with as many people as I can. I'm not sure what it is about the way I do it, but I can share any genre with any person, and earn the musician a new fan. Frankly, I think it's just the passion I have, and vulnerable, and comforting energy.

Nigerian Female Artist: Ndidi Emefiele
Ndidi Emefiele is a young painter who is subverting Western expectations of African arts. She is among the leading voices in contemporary Nigerian art. Her images show women with wide eyes protected by colorful glasses and dressed in rich fabric scraps. The work of Emefiele raises questions about gender, culture, and style.
