When the handsome stranger happens upon Anabel’s car the potential for romance is the last thing on either of their minds, but just like unexpected storms, emotion creeps in when one least expects it.

Got a freebie alert for my short, and sweet co-written with author A.L Knuckles. This one brings you a bit of a Christmas in July feeling - when two people are pushed together by circumstance and desperation but find that the one person they never knew they needed all along was sent to them like a guardian angel on their worst night. I found a lot of inspiration in writing this story from movies like Look Who's Talking Now. Particularly because John Travolta's character in the movie happens to be away from his family and a circumstance leaves Kirstie Alley's haphazardly stuck in a snowstorm in unbelievable conditions. I thought the same sort of thing might prove a good point to start out a freshly budding romance, and asked AL if she would be willing to help me craft a bit in it. She agreed, and we created this story which first appeared in an anthology of similar stories called, Snowed In. Snowed In is no longer in print, but we chose to keep the story out there for anyone to enjoy and this is the primetime to do so if you'd like to save money and add to your summer reading list!

It might also help to explain that while this is a novella, it's a nice and fun quick read for in-between landing while on an airplane, or even just lounging poolside. I chose to center the storm in the Santiam Pass area of Oregon to give it a little more credibility to how dangerous the place truly is during the worst conditions, but also how great the people in these places can be when it comes to helping one another and ensuring the forest remains pristine and protected - but not constantly gobbling up it's visitors. I think, overall, Frosted Dreams is a story that is perfect for those who want to hold onto a hope that a hero will come and rescue them, and that their white knight in shining armor will be there in surprising ways when they least expect it. In that sense, it's a sweet, steamy romance that plays upon the need to find yourself in independence and yet still have that common ground of a partner who respects, admires and also wants to protect you.

Frosted Dreams can be picked up between 7/13-7/17 for free on #Kindle!

How could an ice-storm be so warm?

Isha Singh isn’t the sort to waste his time, and he’s never met any obstacle he couldn’t outwit. Never one to take no for an answer, Isha’s faced prejudice, discrimination, and mountain lions, but the one thing he could’ve never foreseen was how helping a random stranger from freezing to death might rescue him too.

Anabel Beauregard isn’t afraid of traveling alone - or at least that’s what she’s told herself. All she’s ever wanted was to get away from her closed-minded small-town politics and move away for college.

Like falling icicles, Ana’s bravado is shattered by her own ignorance and overlooking a crucial piece of travel gear. Calamity breaks loose - stranding Anabel in the cold and dark Santiam Pass during a wintry alert - with no cell service, and a car quickly running out of gas.

When the handsome stranger happens upon Anabel’s car the potential for romance is the last thing on either of their minds, but just like unexpected storms, emotion creeps in when one least expects it.
