The Beijing Book Fair
An exciting message from Bristol novelist Nery McMahon. I am so very happy to announce that my new semi autobiographical, true-crime novel 'The Immigrant Veronicas Story' has recently been featured at the Beijing Book Fair in China between 18th and 22nd June 2025. It was an absolute pleasure to see it on display amongst some of the most recognisable authors in the world and so very humbling to be selected for such a prestigious book event. A very big thank you to the organisers and to everyone involved for showcasing my novel to the book audience of the world.

A train like no other
Once upon a time, in a small town on the edge of the forest, there lived an old train that had been idle for years. The rusty rails and dusty carriages had become a refuge for the neighborhood children, who ventured out to imagine distant worlds. But to everyone else, this train was just a relic of the past, forgotten and abandoned.

The mascot (continued)
One afternoon, while they were meeting at the park for a picnic, an idea came to Clara, one of their friends. “Why not organize an event for all the children in the neighborhood? A day of games and activities where Max would be the star!”

Strange Sally Diamond. Top Story - June 2025.
I picked up this book at the B&N’s Blind Date With a Book display. I loved the entire concept of selecting a mystery book based on a one-sentence teaser. Especially because they were lovingly wrapped by hand and the handwriting must have taken good effort (if they used the cursive it would have been even more attractive). As a public relations professional I think this marketing technique is brilliant, tapping into the book lovers’ serendipitous desire to be surprised with something new.

Shine, Girl!
There was a time when she believed she could do anything. As a little girl, she would stand on rooftops and talk to the stars. She dreamed of singing in front of thousands, of writing books that made people cry, of dancing barefoot in the rain without anyone telling her to come inside. She was wild, curious, and full of light.

The mascot
Laughter echoed around them, bursts of joy mingling with the gentle whisper of the wind. Max, full of energy, rushed toward the flowery fields, urging his friends to follow him. Each of them knew that, beyond the games and adventures, it was their bonding that made each moment precious. They promised each other, throughout the seasons, to always find each other, no matter what life's ups and downs.

The letter that changed everything
Tania was 28, and from the outside, everything looked perfect. She worked as a customer relationship officer at a prestigious bank in Lahore. Her hair was always tied neatly, her heels clicked with authority, and her phone buzzed constantly with updates, approvals, and balance sheets. Her family was proud. Society approved. She was “settled.”

An unusual luthier
The Strings of the Soul In a small village hidden deep in the hills lived an unusual luthier named Émile. Unlike his peers, who crafted exquisite instruments for renowned musicians, Émile was known for his unique creations, often considered... strange. His instruments, made of unexpected materials and adorned with eccentric designs, told stories far beyond music.
