Common Man swore severely. His face, black, showed signs of blood coursing through his body. Socialista frowned. Fascinder snickered.

“Goddamnit!”

“Take off your madness, sir!” Fascinder proclaimed.

“He’s right, Com’. You’re just playing into their hand, getting upset like that,” Socialista assuaged.

“Goddamn ‘em all!”

Common Man drove the vehicle onto the freeway and swerved like a madman. His reckless disregard for his passengers felt like a rollercoaster without a set of rails after the dramatic drop.

“There is a direct connection to speed and jailtime, I’m just saying,” Fascinder mentioned.

“Shut up, Fasc! Just shut up!” A bit of spittle drooled from Common Man’s mouth. Fascinder threw up his hands in surrender.

“Bro’, you’re getting mad at me and they’re in the air. That don’t know about your little hissy fit. So quit. We’ll just realign our attentions….”

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Socialista asked rolling her eyes so hard it was amazing they didn’t get stuck in thr back of her head.

“We’ll just restrategize. We’ll be given no help from no one save our own. There are legions out there who support our cause but we must show how we’re going to be a presence.”

“Well presently we’re flying down the highway—and there go the red and blues. You’ve got your license, registration, and proof of insurance—-” Fascinder started.

“Fasc, shut your goddamn mouth. Everyone just remain calm and still.”

They looked at each other as Common Man placed his hands on the sterring wheel, black knuckles protruding through his black skin.

“We’re just going to remain calm,” he repeated.

He reached underneath his wheel well and produced a sawed off shotty.

When the officer approached the vehicle, sweaty palms wrapped around the firearm like a bottle of soda.

“Good evening officer,” he mentioned.
