All I Want For Christmas
The truth had never been so vivid as it was, standing in the Target Christmas section on a Monday in early November. I had paused to linger on a pink cardboard house covered in glittery snow with tiny Christmas trees on the cardboard front lawn. A tiny wreath with a tiny red ribbon hung on the door, tying it all together. It was a miniature dream.

How Christmas Was At Grandma’s
It's been ten years since I spent Christmas with my grandma who lived in Africa and I witnessed how Christmas was celebrated in her village. The Christmas season was a very festive one. In that small village, the style and fun of the celebration were awesome. It took a lot for the natives to prepare for Christmas. That is why the celebration was so colorful and full of fun.

Ok, I have a confession to make
I don't like my child on most days. Three out of Four days she is great, the other days, she is tolerable if she's lucky. That's not to say I don't like her generally, I do and of course I love her more than anything (even when I want to squeeze her face). But, my preteen, rolling eyed, attitude wheeling, know all, YouTube obsessed emo is grinding my gears in more ways than one. (Shout out to Family Guy fans).

I'm Hard to Love
Sometimes people can be quite in love with each other but just not good for one another. I've reflected on that thought quite often for being only 23-years-old. Sometimes problems just seem to stack up in a relationship and neither person can figure out which way to turn. At least that's how I feel. Sometimes two people can hold so much love for one another but just are not good for each other.

As Cancer Takes Another Victim
It feels like walking through a long tunnel with no lights, tripping over every rock, surfaced roots, and patch of uneven ground you could possibly run into. You know where you are at, but you're not fully aware of where you're going, and you have absolutely no idea when you are going to get there. Cancer is the road often traveled but not often understood, especially for those who have never experienced it.

Where I Belong
“When you’re a mixed race, you get the best of both worlds,” they said. They said that and they meant it. I’m not going to waste a second trying to imply that that isn’t true, either. There’s so much beauty and difference that is so worth embracing, so much to be proud of, and it would be a mistake to let the building blocks to our identity slip through our fingers. The problem is every good thing comes with a catch, I’m sure everyone has learned that by now someway or another, and for this situation it’s that you get the worst of both worlds too.

Confessions of the Mad - Installment Seven
4 October 2021 Someone broke into my car and couldn’t get it started, but they were able to manage to break our car. Maybe it has something to do with the ignition, who knows. They also stole my husband’s glasses and left the case. If you’re going to take glasses, at least don’t scratch them. Sometimes it feels like we are being targeted.

My First Experience with Birth Trauma
My first experience with birth trauma ---- In that in between grey of early morning, I finished up packing and eagerly left with my fiance' of the time. His father drove us to the hospital. I was going to meet my baby girl that day. My sweet baby girl. Everything I had endured with my "fiance" would be worth it as soon as I met my baby girl, right?
