One day, a little boy planted a fat doll made of straw in a paddy field. The straw doll was very proud with a little cool hat on his head and a little flag in his hand. He not only looks good, but also he shoulders a very important responsibility - he has to guard the rice in the paddy field. The birds came and wanted to eat some rice, but the straw dolls chased them away. The field mouse came and wanted some rice, but the straw doll drove him away. Autumn came, the rice harvest was finished, and the straw doll had done his duty. The rice field was suddenly empty, and the straw doll stood there, lonely and miserable. He wanted to find a friend to talk to and play with! The mouse came scurrying over, and the straw doll called to him, "Mouse, mouse, will you play with me?" The field-mouse did not want to play with him, but said, "No, it is winter, and I must find some hay to make my little bed." A group of birds chirp to fly over, straw doll hurriedly called them: "bird, bird, you can accompany me to play?" The birds were not happy, either, and said, "No, winter is coming, and we must find some hay to build our nest." In the evening the field mouse came back listlessly. "What's the matter? Field-mice." "Asked the Straw doll with concern. "I've been looking all day, but I haven't found any straw. If it snows, I'll freeze to death." 'said the mouse anxiously. The straw doll thought for a moment and said, "You can take some of my straw." The field mouse took the straw and went home. On the way, the field mouse thought that the straw doll was actually very good, he should not hold a grudge. Then he met the flock of birds. "You are very lucky, Vole. We haven't found any hay yet. What if it snows?" "Said the birds anxiously. "Don't be sad, little birds," said the mouse. "The straw doll told me to bring you a message. He has some straw. In the evening, it snowed heavily. The mice and the birds slept in the thick straw, warm and comfortable! Watching the falling snow, the little boy remembered the lonely straw doll in the paddy field. He decided to see his old friend. He didn't want Straw Doll to feel lonely. The next day the birds woke up and remembered the Straw Doll. "Alas! The straw doll gave us all his straw. What has become of him?" The field Mouse woke up, looked out at the snow, and thought of the Straw doll. They decided to visit the straw dolls in the rice field. There is only a snowman wearing a red scarf in the rice field, where there is the shadow of the straw doll? "Snowman, Snowman, have you seen our good friend Straw Doll?" "Asked the mouse and the bird anxiously. "Don't you know me? I am the straw doll, hee hee hee..." "Said the snowman with a smile. The bird patted the snow off the snowman's head and found that it was really a straw doll. Everyone laughed. "Thank you for the straw, straw doll," said the field mouse. My little bed is warm now." The birds also said: "Straw doll, we also thank you." The mouse suggested that they all sing a song to the Straw Doll.
