Taboo
Gretel
A haggard old woman stood atop her roof, carefully drizzling maple syrup over pancake shingles. Calculating. Ghosts of children past hung like clouds in the gray sky. The wind clawed at the woman, fraying her gray hair; her gray eyes—devoid of all emotion—sat, disenchantedly, in her skull. She licked her fingers and hobbled back down the ladder, back into the clutches of her home.

Wednesday, 16 August 2023 By: TB Obwoge Ghana's 'Year of Return', where 200, handpicked Black Americans were given citizenship they paid a lot of money for was a scam. Not all Black Americans were offered a chance, as a matter of fact many who I have talked with were not even able to get assistance. Out of the 200 that day only 120 actually obtained their citizenship, for some reason 60 didn't.

Should I run away with my boyfriend and get pregnant?
I buy The Star just to read your column daily. I have always wanted to write to you. I am going to be 19 early next year and my boyfriend is 24. He wants me to have his first child. I also want a baby but I don't want to get pregnant in my parents' house. He got a house through National Housing Trust recently but he has not moved in as yet. He has always wanted me to live with him and he said when he gets his new house we would move in together. His parents are overseas and he lives with his younger sisters. He also wants to meet my mother but I am afraid because I have never introduced any of my past boyfriends to her so I told him soon. I really love my boyfriend. He treats me extremely well and he has two jobs. Pastor, should I move in with him and have our child or should we go out of the country to a small island as we planned and have the baby and come back and then tell my mother after? Please give me your advice.

Incomplete Goodbye
To me, life is like a train journey . Difference is we don’t know the final destination . We cross a lots of junction , stay in different phases , meet with a lot of people of different stations . Even there’s class like we have in our society . Huge people come in and come out and the train make them all reach to their destination through a fix route . Thousand parallel story , shouldn’t touch each other . But difference happen a lot . We have other passengers in our journey . Most of the time we don’t know how far they will be with us . They come , make some good memories and then disappear again in the flow of time . Some make us happy , some memory makes us sad , some erase too quickly . But there’s some make deep impact on us . We may come far away , loose contact , never talk again but they stay in us for long .

Addiction
I guess I always did have a problem with alcohol. The first time I ever drank at a young age led to a blackout. So did most of the other times when I come to think about it. I suspect genetics, bad choices, and a little childhood trauma mixed with an addictive personality are to blame here, but who really knows? I guess it doesn’t really matter, I just have to deal with it now.
