BEHIND THE LAST WINDOW
The outside world was unknown to her, but she could see a glimpse of it through the window in his room. Nestled under fine-woven sheets laced with blue and purple silk, she sat up in the window seat, given to her by her new master, the man she shared her room with. Looking outside the clear glass aperture, there were two mockingbirds: one male, one female both chasing after each other with every chirp met with a kiss, on each other’s’ beak. Feeling the heat of the sun wrapping around the top of her neck, increasing it's intensity, she moves her gaze to the bottom of the sequoia tree right outside her hotel room. There, two scavenger crows, often mistaken for ravens, search for pestilence of the innumerable creepy crawling things beneath the ground, of whom mankind knowns to be Hell.

Writing reveals many truths
Writing sometimes reveals unexpected, embarrassing, or personal details that we may be uncomfortable sharing. I’ve run into this several times over the years. That has caused me to avoid writing about certain subjects, and also prompted me to write under a pen name for a long time.

The Mortician's Daughter
On the day I lost my virginity, my partner, a beautiful young man named Josh, had been dead for 12 hours. I guess that sounds kind of weird to you, right? And I guess it is kind of weird, too. But, well, when you grow up in a funeral parlour, it’s the kind of thing that can end up happening. But I’m getting ahead of myself.

My Hate For The Holidays. Christmas Especially!
Public service announcement: As our Christmas Day is almost over can I just personally say how much I actually hate the holidays and how ironic it is of us as a human race under contempt to celebrate a day set on recognizing the messiah when in dear fact the messiah died because of our sins not for our sins.

GAYCATION
It started at gaycation, this convening where a whole bunch of queers gets to camp in the wilderness for fun. There were also games and good food for the week, but it was mostly a retreat for people who hadn't had a chance to enjoy the outdoors. I was not one of those people. I've been a city slicker my whole life, but this was a chance to finally see what being in a commune full of gays would be like. And boy, they did not disappoint. Some of the drama included a new acquaintance of mine using the fact that they, myself, and a new friend shared the same bed on the first night because they were too timid to sleep alone. Being new queers, I didn't hold any objections, and the three of us cuddled until the morning. I didn't know that acquaintances would use our nightcaps to infuriate their ex by making it sound like we "slept" together. To add insult to injury, the ex was my friend, and I certainly had to pull her aside to reassure her that I was not that dirty. I do, in fact, respect boundaries, others more so than my own.

Bloodletting
Dear C, First of all, I want you to know that I love you. Secondly, I want you to know that I have never been so mad at you. I could hunt around for a synonym that would sound more eloquent, and that I meant it more— but mad feels right. A word I picked up early on in my childhood to blanket cover a lot of confusing emotions that I don't like. But my therapist wants me to articulate.
