Lost Lovers
"Hello, is this Samantha?" I asked. I actually knew that it was her already, I would know her voice in a crowded coffee shop. I have been watching her for a while now. I found her as I was searching for my next lover. She was shopping at the local grocery store, careful in picking items before she put them in her cart. She has short brown hair, the greenest eyes you have ever seen, and such an innocent look about her. She never wears any makeup, at least never when I have studied her. I guess that is where I get the innocent look from when describing her. I know she is anything but innocent and that is why she will be my next lover.

'The Counselor' with Michael Fassbender Is Sure to get Your Attention
You can't watch The Counselor in the typical, play with your iPhone and catch the subtext in between setting off angry Facebook wars. Cameron Diaz cryptically deliberating with Javier Bardem in the New Mexico desert as they spy their pet cougars, a green clad biker racing to nowhere at 200 mph and Michael Fassbender discussing the reflective quality of nitrogen in the diamond he will spring on Penelope Cruz. This is all topped off by the deal the successful lawyer is about to engage in with a Mexican Drug Cartel. Left a bit a miss, you could easily be lulled to sleep amongst a very sedate dialogue. I was and almost turned it off. But that made the Ridley Scott film all the more chilling as I watched a second time, and the beginning and end were seared together in real time.

John Wayne Gacy—No Single Thing Made Him a Killer
Quite often when I read about serial killers, or violence in general, people wish to find a simple explanation for the behavior. In John Wayne Gacy's case, his abusive father was certainly an influence, but probably not the sole one. I can't help but notice how, officially anyway, he didn't become a serial killer until some time after he served in prison. Could that have been part of what sent him over the edge? It could be he had negative experiences with his fellow inmates, and that his overall experience in prison made him hate the human race more.

Heart Rake
Remember when Donald Trump told California officials that if they raked the forest, the wildfires would stop? It's a thing that really happened, it became a meme. Outside of the lunacy that a rake would stop a wildfire, Todd Mullis may have given them another reason to not listen to Trump. Mullis is charged with killing his wife, Amy Mullis, with a corn rake. And as with so many victims before her, Amy seemed to know that Todd was aiming to snuff the life out of her.

Pizza Delivery Bomber
A new documentary has been released on Netflix in 2018 about a 2003 bank robbery in Erie, Pennsylvania. There has never been a bank robbery quite like this one. What made this one stand out is the fact that the robber had a bomb collar around his neck. Brian Wells was a pizza delivery driver, and on August 28, 2003 he delivered a pizza to a cell tower where he had the bomb strapped to him. He was instructed to rob a bank and bring back a quarter of a million dollars.
