A Story for a Dead Man
I set my alarm as if I was setting a bomb rigged to blow. It’s 1:22am on a Friday night and I’m half drunk and dreading tomorrow’s wake up. I’ve always hated tomorrow’s wake up, it didn’t matter the time or day or what was supposed to be happening, I just didn’t like waking up much. They vocally agreed to get up at 6am as I silently disagreed and set my alarm for 6:16am. Sleep may be the cousin of death but it’s sure a friend of mine.

The Devil in Polo
Maybe I got addicted to the rush of the fast life. The adrenaline flowing through my body was something a girl from a prestigious upbringing couldn't get enough of. Some might suggest I walked a tight rope my whole life. Never living on the edge...and how could I? With the family I was born into there was no concept of fun or adventure. My amusement was the hour I was allotted once a week to go on trainer free rides with my horse. The rest of my days were compiled with scheduling by my debutante mother. School from this hour to that, Violin till sometime to another, studying, reading, yoga, etiquette classes, pageants, riding lessons and fencing. I was only aloud enough time to be the perfect daughter my parents dreamed about.

Family Ties
Chapter 1 “Nancy come back to bed.” I turned around to see Brian standing behind me in his pajamas. He was about 6’1” and built like a football player but had the brains of a nerd. I think that’s why I have been playing this on again, off again affair with him. The first time we met was when I was married to my first husband Vince Right. I was miserable in my marriage and was really only in it for the money so when Brian came along I couldn’t help but be tempted. We would fool around every once in a while but I wanted a way out of my senseless marriage so Brian and I came up with the perfect plan—fake my murder. By faking my murder, I would be out of the marriage and be rid of my stupid husband since the blame would go all on him. All I had to do was find a way for the police to convict him without needing my body as proof. Vince's brother David solved that problem for me though and after wrapping him around my little finger, the plan came together perfectly.

Dr. Snuff
Shannon was casually surfing the internet concealed by the darkness of night merged with the blackness of the small study in her apartment, with her laptop providing her only but sufficient light source, giving a bluish hew. While others slept soundly for another day at the office, she was intently on the prowl in the cyber world. While this is seen as a normal occurrence not just in the United States but worldwide, Shannon was shopping, but not for a pair of high heeled cork wedges or the latest Eat This Not That dietary guide, but something so illegal, that even surfing this obscure explorer in of itself was potentially felonious...she was browsing a list of assassins for hire on the devil’s internet: the dark web.

Review of 'Making a Murderer' 2
My wife and I binge-watched the second season of Making a Murderer on Netflix the past few evenings. In an America brought to new levels of injustice and anger and despair courtesy of Trump, and commitment to vote him and his Republicans out of office as soon as possible, the story of what happened to Steven Avery and Brendan Dassey provides yet another totally separate example of the decline and miscarriage of justice in America, in this case due to police, prosecutors, and judges, including the U. S. Supreme Court.

Charles' Fatality
Charles was wandering about the lonely stretch of highway where only a passerby, big rig, or the occasional Greyhound showed up once every few hours. The entire surrounding was quite off-putting, as there wasn't a single highway patrolman in the vicinity, nor was there a nearby truck stop, gas station, or diner as well as the nearest town was over eighty miles away, and it was so sleepy and quaint that the Amish would call it home. Therefore, if the shit were to hit the fan-whether it be a crash, a medical emergency, car trouble, or any number of possible fates, you were far passed screwed.
